Even Fauci is waking up to the fact that this economic shutdown needs to end or as Trump has been saying at some point the medicine does more damage than the disease. Democrats are going to be forced to stop their political foot dragging and our economy will be back on its feet come November.

"Stay-home orders that extend too long could cause the U.S. “irreparable damage,” Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Friday."
"But now is the time, depending upon where you are and what your situation is, to begin to seriously look at reopening the economy, reopening the country to try to get back to some degree of normal.”

Because the epicenter was in NYC, we’ve overreacted to the virus nationally and probably done more damage than good.

If the virus was centered in Idaho or Oklahoma, would NYC and Washington, DC have shut down? Not a chance. The media reaction would have been completely different.

And to prove your point, Blaine County Idaho had a higher per capita rate of infection than NYC.

Fauci is all over the freaking map; first saying one thing with the irrefutable weight of medical science behind him and then later on doing a 180 degree about face -- but again with the irrefutable weight of medical science behind him. He demonstrates that appointments for life in government jobs are not always a good thing.

Fauchi doesn't make policy - he just advises.
It's the President who makes policy. Have problems with how things are going, talk to Trump. The buck stops there.

Probably the skiers brought the coronavirus in, and many of them probably caught it on airliners, the mile high subway system.

Looking at the Idaho incidence map mid-article -- there's 7 colors on the map and only 6 on the legend. And the legend doesn't always coincide with the number of confirmed cases. Go figure. Government.:)

Fair enough, but Blaine County was not in the national media news 24/7 as was New York.

Let me ask you this, Did you know about Blaine County Idaho?

No, but that is not because it wasn't reported; it's because I've read hundreds and hundreds of articles about lots of places in the country I've never heard of, and how they are dealing. I can't remember most of the places I've read abiyt about but never heard of; it's more like a having a general idea of how things are going in various parts of the country.

It was poorly written, but then it's a small local outfit taken over by McClatchy, like our local paper, which is even worse.

It's up to the governors of each state. When Trump attempted to make those decisions, dems cried like 3 years olds. So here we are, it's up to the governors.

I thought it was determined that the governors can decide for their state, not Trump or Fauci.

so is Trump going to admit his reopening guidelines were wrong and correct them - or just attack the States that follow them?

It's up to the governors. Oddly enough, it's the dem governors who remain closed.
