These policeman are doing something we will see happen in blue states where they are not appreciated. This 79 year old professional activist got in the way of men doing there job. He should have known better and got his just deserts!

When they resign over the "threat" of being held responsible for their actions and being reasonable in their use of force, they never deserved the job to begin with.

    Good riddance!

They had no problem filling those positions.

It takes what, 3 to 4 months to becomes a cop? It is basically an entry level job. No problem. It's not like trying to replace rocket scientists, immunologists, or cancer doctors.

This old man was interferring with officers in the act of performing their job. He tried to block them and was shoved. He lost his balance, fell backwards, and police proceeded with their mission. If you listen to the video, it was stated an EMT would be coming up behind. Hope this old agitator got the medical attention he needed, then a trip to jail for interferring with police.

Given that they were arrested and are being arraigned today, obviously better people disagree.

Well if you leftists get your way, we will be protected by Cartels without polce. I actually think that will be a valid experiment in the "Blue States". They need to get more of what they want! Of course their leaders live behind walls with hired security!

Exactly. That's how it works. Laws must be upheld. If you want to call it Trumpism, great. We saw what happens when police back away as they did in New York. That is the Socialist Democrat response!

I'm not a leftist. I'm not even a democrat. So there is lesson 1.

We will have police, much better police. We don't need or want YOUR kind of police. We will put them in jail.

The old man was peacefully protesting, which is his right. The police have no Constitutional "right" to be blindly obeyed, nor the right to use excessive force to demand compliance.

The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It protects our right to peacefully protest and be free of excessive force. If you want to call wiping your ass with the Constitution Trumpism and adherence to it a Social Democrat response, then be my guess. We at least agree about the former.

They're resigning because their job is now impossible, held to impossible standards and attacked by those they risk their lives to protect at every turn.

If they find it impossible to use reasonable force and think that they can't do their job if they are held to any kind of legal standard, then good riddance. We are better off without them.

Are you kidding? It takes YEARS to become a competent officer and develop the experience and skillset required for the job, plenty of rocket scientists, immunologists and cancer doctors could never do it. Now you have a department entirely composed of rookies which will be a disaster.

Like Venezuelans, you are completely owned by the Power Mongering Elitist who will later dispose of you.

Trump is the ONLY one in Washington not a Globalist
I do hope that someday you will reap the rewards your ignorance sows.

Was reasonable, they're just sick of being kicked around by the hypocrites who are always the first to squeal for help when they're in trouble.

Hold on, dude. The officers didn't resign from the force, they just resigned from the special tactical unit. They are still police officers on the job.

This is what happens when posters resort to bombastic headlines in a thread. This is the worst of the internet.

That's strange. The only time I have heard the political Left on this forum system endorse reasonable force was when ANTIFA was sneak-attacking people on the streets ever since Trump became president. That sends sort of a mixed message to people.

Sorry, it is a tough world out there. Perhaps it's too tough for you. It takes law enforcement with a degree of toughness within the law to handle it. So that is lesson #2.
Maybe you need to familiarize yourself with the gruesome pictures of police officers shot in the head or catching a brick in the face. Quit s contrast to an 75 year old agitator who can't keep his balance when defending a space he shouldn't be in in the first place.Perhaps you need to stay in Never Neverland.

Thanks for that extra bit of info Daniel. I bet many of them, however will look for enforcement jobs outside of the Blue States. Kind of like the Metro Firefighter I met camping. He left Detroit. Said it was like fighting fires in Iran. Never knew when some ghetto boy would cut your hose or take a shot at you. Weren't enough police to protect them.

Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Does not give you or other agitators the right to stand in the way of police when called to do a duty to protect property and the rights of American citizens. Tired of you and other agitators wiping your ass on the American Flag! (Those were your words, back atcha!)

What's more, they were all told by their supervisor they would be terminated from the unit if they didn't. A forced retirement from a squad. They still remain active NYC police. The OP would have liked being a German citizen in the late 1930s clearly. There are some folks that will defend anything police do, and take any side perceived to be the "Trump" side of an argument. Such incompetence and willful ignorance is stunning.

    Daniel Light,
Being a black man, do you ever feel you are racist?
Or, as a black man, do you feel black people are not "capable" of racism?

That's the world you envision, but the actual world that will happen has played out before: In 1920's Germany. Once you get rid of a neutral policing force, you're going to have the countermovement to the ANTIFA, and these political paramilitary wings will rule the streets, beat up civilians and from the ashes will arise a new Hitler.
