As someone who lives in a big liberal city (Chicago), I can tell you from firsthand experience that this city is in the process of dying.

The city's main source of strength - its dynamic cultural and social scene - has withered in the face of a draconian lockdown.

Economically, this is going to devastate the city's already troubled finances. It's sort of like setting a sinking ship on fire.

Although I would prefer to preserve the cultural and social scene in America's big cities, if liberals insist on committing economic suicide, I'm not going to stand in their way.

Go ahead and destroy yourselves. See if I care. I'm leaving this cesspool anyway.

I rent, so I don't have to worry about that. I'm looking at buying some land in the south.

Were open for business in sw florida. Have some relatives in N.C as well. Very quiet, and you still have seasons, just milder.

I've been looking at Florida and North Carolina along with Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina. I was looking at Virginia but unfortunately that State is being devoured by the cancer spreading from Washington DC.

    I live in SW suburbs.
I could make it for only 3 years in Chicago proper. I like being close to the city, but considering their ridiculous politics and disfunction we moved to the suburbs and even out of cook county to not be part of the stupidity of Chicago politics.
That city, with its license plate stickers and horrible roads for which the money for stickers should go, is like beyond lost and continues to drown in pension funding issues.

My wife and I already had a few conversations about potentially moving to some other state, like Carolinas, or something in that area.

Nc is getting there right beside Virginia. The idiot liberals destroy their own cities and states and then move down here and bring their stupid policies with them and destroy our states.

There is no such animal as a liberal city. Cities have a population of diverse ideas and political affiliations.Big cities are dying beaue the US has lost its manufacturing and industrial base to overseas producers. That happened in the 1970's to present and it won't stop until the wealthy corporations have sucked the last of yer life and money dry...They are sitting pretty because they are international operations that have no association with any nation, just wealth.

You do not know Ann Arbor or else you would never say there's no such thing. I worked there and lived near there for a decade. You are absolutely wrong. Diverse ideas are tolerated ONLY within strict liberal parameters. If there actually are conservatives in that town entirely dominated by the ultraliberal U of M or their massive hospital system --- they keep really quiet. Political correctness runs at fever pitch. THAT city will not die because of those two incredibly large and public-funded entities. For years they have abhorred common sense. They embody liberal intolerance.

Where were those cries from liberals to bring business back Stateside, under Obama? He drove them away. Trump will bring them back, particularly steel for shipbuilding so we never have to worry about a Chinese navy now about to outnumber our own. We need to bring home ALL our manufacturing. We need to face the fact we will some day again be at war, whether we cause it or not.

Big cities across America are dominated politically by liberal Democrats and have been for decades.

They lost their manufacturing and industrial bases because liberal Democrats keep making it more and more expensive to do business in America.

Liberal Democrats destroy everything they touch.

I will probably invest in Texas at some point, but my first spot needs to be in the mountains.

Yeap, that's how it works. I moved to NV in 2012 when it was still a slightly red state. But with so many from CA now migrating here, it's become a solid blue state.

Democrats have a unique ability of destroying everything they set their foot on.

Coastal Georgia and North Florida are seeing one of the biggest buying booms since before 2008.

    North Texas has mountains.

But when I hear mountains I think Colorado...then I think, no thanks. I wonder how Wyoming or Montana would be?

They will die unless they quickly reverse their disastrous economic policies. And even then, it may be too late.
