My girlfriend likes to play this game. She is very sociable and has a face that is quite easy on the eyes. The goal is to see what kind of silly things she can get unsuspecting people to believe. My role has always been to support her without breaking into laughter.

It started with these political anarchist kooks and their a$$ backwards interpretation of the constitution and reality in general. They are out there everyday acting like they know what they were talking about, as if somehow their little collection of nutjobs, feeling big with their guns and molotov cocktails and bricks and cement filled tennis balls and rocks, and bags of feces and urine were going to dictate to the local/federal government and everybody else what was going to be. Actually I get a kick out of slapping conservatives with a little dab of reality from time to time. It has a lot to do with the fact that belief is an emotional affair. Right wing media has convinced you that the "antifa" is other than it is and those ideas have merged with other anti left messaging that many conservatives have internalized over the years. Yet the left, and the situation in Seattle is quite different than as how conservatives would like to "believe" they are. A little splash of reality causes an emotional response.

These demonstrations have demonstrated a few things. Like the fact that Republicans prefer a strong authoritarian police force to quash dissent. And that Trump is a weak, ineffectual leader. The longer the protest drag on, the worse Trump looks. The worse Republicans look defending the indefensible. And that once again, conservatives can get all riled up on things that don't really square with reality.

 

Give them 12 hours to vacate, instruct all other residents to either leave or take secure shelter and await for rescue and set up temporary shelter for them offsite. Then send in the combined police and National Guard will full non-lethal force but prepared to use lethal force it lethal force is used against them including having bricks and heavy rocks and molotov cocktails tossed at them. This group has not only violated pages of laws by just "occupying" they are extorting the law abiding private citizens who live there for "protection" and also subject them to search and seizures. And everyone they catch inside that area gets arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

THIS CANNOT STAND, where is the mayor and the governor? These people are in danger. and there are anarchist engaged in sedition. It is THEIR responsibility to put a stop to it.

 

There are probably a thousand or more private law abiding citizens living there, you can't put them under siege. They have to be fed, they have to have water, they have to have communications. If the authorities try to blockade say large shipments of food they can determine are for the anarchist they can seize those but those criminals are already extorting the law abiding citizens and will just take their food.

I think that all of those who cause destruction and are looting should be picked up and charged with crimes.

But the main protest in Seattle has nothing to do with looting or destruction. It is why the police have been able to stay away. Across the country the protest had a great deal to do with police brutality. The response from far too many police has been more police brutality. It was decided in Seattle, that rather than send in the shock troops, they just let the peaceful protests play out.

It is not like a real occupation. In the evening most protestors go home and sleep in their own beds. And return the next day. It is most likely mostly the homeless who are sleeping there, if anyone. It is more of a 24 hour protest that the city is going to let go for now.

They have long had free speech zones in Seattle. Places where one can climb upon the soap box and say anything they want

Was it not that long ago that consevartives were arguing that they couldn't depend on the state to protect them? That so many conservatives are advocating military violence on peaceful demonstrators says a lot about the conservative mindset.

I, like Thomas Jefferson did, think that liberty and democracy benefit from an occasional uprising to keep things on track. To remind people of their freedoms and how the state often stifles those freedoms for way too many citizens.
