The face of a person on a bottle of syrup offends a significant portion of the population. I think you have that backward. A significant portion of the population is offended at the pandering Quaker (another "offensive name") Oats by removing Nancy Green's a once time slave turned into a wealthy person that traveled all over the country on a lifetime contract with Quaker Oats.
Too many Karen's in the world.

Of course not. For it would be as stupid as your stupid crusade. There is nothing negative about Aunt Jemima or Uncle Ben. It would be negative if either were pictured as lazy welfare blacks living off of taxpayers. Or drug dealers or gang members. Or looting thieves.

The perception of your gang is FUBAR.

Manufactured outrage. That comes from having too easy a life and little suffering. Best thing to cure this is hard times for your kind. So you have to get proper priorities. And stop the incessant stupid nonsense. For stupid is as stupid does.

This syrup thing obviously isn't racist, because if it was the professional race baiters and the people who are perpetually offended would have said something by now. if it is racist, then why did you go your entire life looking a syrup bottle and not seeing the inherent and oppressive racism associated with it?

And racism exists, just look at China. if you prefer to look closer to home, then I would suggest Hawaii or Boston.

That is why I asked you what specifically caused the reaction against Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben.
    I assumed you were objective.

With every social media campaign and financial pressure(and not conveniently, BLM now asks its 'members'(more like the general public) to continue giving donations(aka: fees) for their little cause. It's like we sprouted a mini taliban right here in the United States. Only these extortionists are not only welcomed, they're being "heard".

It is impossible to explain why something is offensive to someone who will never accept that the thing is offensive.

Something being offensive to some people(or a very few people, actually.) doesn't mean it's offensive to all and it doesn't mean that the greater American Society has to kowtow to demands of people twittering. Hell, Trump wishes his tweets got things done like that.

Generation snowflake is proof of parenting gone wrong.

I said that a significant percentage of the population find it offensive. I also said that I don't give a **** about trying to explain to you why they feel it is offensive.

I wonder if it occurs to you and the others bitching about the decisions of a private company on this thread that the only people who are acting like "snowflakes" are the people offended by Quaker's decision.

Would you like to force these companies to reverse their decision? How is that behavior any different from the people demanding that these private companies make the marketing decision or altering their brand name?

So...the people who are offended by Quaker's decision are acting like Karens? I agree.

You haven't tried explaining. Your explanation doesn't force anyone to accept it.

You are making the patently absurd argument that these companies had never heard complaints about the inherent racism of their brands before they made the decision.

It could also have to do with the particular channels I watch that recycle the same commercials often. It seems every commercial I see that has a family in it is ALWAYS mixed. I don't really care, but don't pretend this isn't a thing. It has been for several years now.

If you believe it is possible to be convinced that these images and names are offensive and would like to review the arguments and positions for why they are offensive to some people, then I would suggest talking to those people.

I wouldn't want to force them to reverse their decision. The problem is them kowtowing to anything at all. Using financial extortion as a way to alter society, is not the way a society should be run, no matter what their grievances. Because, yes, the "other side" can do it too and we don't want that, because every such political altercation moves us right back to the brink of where we were in 1854.

We've managed to keep the union, a union because we gave each other some space. Now we've got the justice warriors wanting to create a hollow society in their image that doesn't frankly reflect society at all. If it did, they wouldn't need to extort to do it.

Colonel Sanders has been portrayed by a black man and a woman in official KFC commercials. So I think they heard you already.
