To show the silliness that is going on in the country today. What are we going to do, ban all symbols of all groups. so that no-one can possible be offended? Are all shirts and outerwear going to be the next targets? Oh wait they already are. MAGA wear is taboo. The statues left standing today may very well be the statues that get torn down tomorrow. Are charities going to be the next targets? I have been threatened a few times from companies that had goals they wanted to meet with 100% participation, and when I asked if any monies supported plan parenthood, and they said it did, I bulked. We have the left who has been trying for years to water down and dilute conservative talk radio and media with the commerce fairness act.

Went to Publix today and y'all should've seen all the commotion. Aunt Jemima, Mrs. Butterworth, and Uncle Ben were protesting, Texas Pete and Capt. Morgan were getting drunk, Little Debbie was working the corner, and Jimmy Dean was showing everybody his sausage. The world has gone crazy. Somebody call Mr. Clean!!

 

- In other news - At the same Publix, "Aunt Ruthie" was apparently spotted walking hand in hand with a mild mannered, elderly, colored gent who used to drive Miss Daisy. Bluesguy was elated and overcome with nostalgia, as this enchanting scene caused him to reminisce about good blacks of lore whom he dearly loved, during childhood days of nirvana on the set of "The Help" . Just kidding Bluesguy ... juuust kidding ...

I am curious as to why all of a sudden social justice warriors want to erase all black history and images. Does this mean there will be no more black actors? Are blacks images to be removed from all advertising. I would think any self-respecting person of color would be offended by the leftist movement and their condescending attitude.

I read that it's a reaction to a video that a black lady posted about how not to make a racist breakfast, in which she takes out a box of Aunt Jemima pancake mix and gets rid of the contents by pouring it down her kitchen sink. The video went viral. I watched the video after I read about it but I can't confirm that this was the catalyst.

Oh and I won't get rid of my pancake mix or syrup. The people who are complaining about the symbolism are right but they already gave her a makeover and there are bigger fish to fry.

I wont get rid of mine either, and FWIW, I tend to be brand loyal, if the name changes I'm likely to just switch to another brand that I've heard of. For example I like diet pepsi, but if for some reason they change their name to Diet Juke, I'm likely just going to buy diet coke, I can't tell the difference anyway.

The whole thing is just "odd" but hey, whatever floats their boat.

Trying to Rebrand a flavor of corn syrup looks like an uphill battle to me.
