Biden remarks on protests: Everything Biden suggested that "should be done" on police reform, Trump just did by Executive Order yesterday. Biden seems to keep proposing things which Trump is taking action on. They don't seem to be too different, except that Trump is in office. I'm sure he appreciates Joe's support though.

 

So what you are saying is that Trump copied Biden given that Biden made those statements before Trump even announced what would be included in his executive order.

 

Does it matter? Joe listed a set of things he would do and now they are done. Sounds like Biden and Trump share many of the same ideas.

 

I would say that it matters because one of the ideas - a national database on police misbehavior - doesn't just magically form overnight. That requires a great deal of effort to implement because you need thousands of local municipalities to agree to record and hand over that type of data.

Do you really trust Trump to push Bill Barr to make such a database given that both have taken such a hard and consistent position of defending police officers?

 

I trust Trump to have Barr to create it as much as I trust Biden to have "whoever" to do so. Yes. Movement is faster on items with bipartisan agreement. This is one of those items.

The social unrest of the past few weeks doesn't help Biden and the Democrats in any way. Sure, it energizes the indoctrinated leftist youth, but there is no way older Democrats who have jobs, kids, and mortgages are looking at Democratic officials celebrating CHAZ/CHOP and other anarchist nonsense and feeling like they want to go all-in for November. I don’t necessarily think the past few weeks have flipped people like that to Trump, but I do believe it will dampen their enthusiasm for voting at all. Those kinds of things are never reflected in the polls.

Biden is a drooling moron who can’t get through a 90-second script without forgetting where he is. The worst of what has gone on throughout the pandemic shutdowns and the protests and riots has been in very blue states and cities. It’s difficult to believe that a significant portion of the electorate is opting for that chaos.

 

In some of the latest polling, the percentage of Republicans who feel we are going in the wrong direction is 63%. And we also learned that fear of Trump motivates a significant majority of Biden's supporters while only ~30% fear a Biden Presidency.

In 2016, those numbers were flipped.
