Blacks not responsible for most crime

In response to all of the protests against police brutality of black people, some folks have been arguing that black people are responsible for a majority of crimes in the USA.... Or at least a majority of violent crime in the USA. And somehow this justifies racial profiling and police assumption of black criminal activity

This, is 100% false. And the FBI criminal statistics prove it.

Contrary to talking points and propaganda from right-wing sources, black people are responsible for about 25% of crime in the USA. They are responsible for a little less than one-third of violent crime in the USA, but that number goes back down to 25% if you include non-aggravated assault.

If black people are only responsible for one-third of violent crime, and only one quarter of total crime, that means it is only fair to assume that the vast majority of black people are not committing crimes, and racial profiling is in fact ignorant and not based on real data. If anything it may simply be based on prejudice and lack of knowledge.

If you look at the stats in your link, 12% of the people commit 45.3% of all murders, 22.9% of all rapes, 51.7% of all robberies, 32.8% of all violent crime, 35.8% of all embezzlement, and so on. There is not one crime category where they commit a percentage of crimes that's lower than their population ratio.

If you go by the second chart in your link, blacks under the age of 18 commit 56.9% of the murders and the percentage of crimes they commit in every category far exceeds their percentage of the population.

If I had posted these charts I'd be called a racist for trying to make blacks look bad. I know this for a fact because I once did and that's what happened.

 

Most murder victims in Kenya, are also black.

The statistics are so high seemingly wherever blacks are found, that the obvious suggestion is inheritance.

BS!!!! The figures presented in the OP is false. Google crime in the US, it show that 38% of crimes in the country is committed by blacks. This when they make up 16% of the population. That shows that blacks are twice as likely to commit a crime than white people. Figures dont lie but liars figure.

 

If the data doesn't support racial profiling, that means it's based on hatred, prejudice and bigotry.

Conservatives have excellent reasons to mistrust the FBI after the recent effort to oust Trump. It wasn't that long ago that Hoover had a whole team working on discrediting Martin Luther King Jr.
