'external drop in the market' is a commie attack by china men with a biological weapon, it is not a free market force.

free market capitalists do not depend upon government in free market capitalism.

That doesn't solve the problem of 10,153,205 disabled who need SSI to live. Charity can't handle numbers like that, and there's the even greater number of those who live in poverty, where companies don't pay enough to live. .

Your position is ignorant of the real world, and it's demands, and disabled people need assistance.

No right thinking democrat or republican supports your point of view.

You are a small minority that think they way you do and anyone who does who is running for office is not going find much of caucus in all the legislatures in the land.

Even Milton Friedman, the guy who wrote 'Free To Choose' the super free market economist, did, in fact, support a negative income tax for people in poverty.

    Your position is considered cruel.

I don't oppose your right to support whom you wish. I simply think that the only legitimate purpose of government is to govern (police, courts, military). There is no further legitimate justification.

There is no true free market. It's all managed.

And yeah, a biological attack is a market force. War is part of the market.

when bill clinton ended welfare in nineties the fraudsters moved on to feign disability, taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for these shysters.

they should start a socialist pool to fund these people privately instead of publicly.

free market capitalism has private defense contractors like haliburton and black water.

a biological attack by commies in china was allowed by socialism, not free market capitalism.

Clinton curtailed welfare, it was called 'workfare' after that, as there was a work component to acceptance.

A rather large majority of the electorate disagrees with that position, mainly because it's uncivilized and cruel that a rich nation can't take care of the needy and help the poor.
Didn't Jesus mention something along these lines? Are you a Christian? If not, the principle still holds.

We'll just have to disagree with that position.

Maybe part of the problem is how many people are on assistance.

We only have 160 million in the labor force pulling the economic wagon for 300+ million people.

50 million people participate in programs of social aid.

    https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2015/cb15-97.html

At some point, when not enough people are pulling the wagon and prefer to ride, the wagon doesn't move.

This is what most Americans are tired of.

I support social programs for those truly in need, but fraud is rampant.

Did Jesus say anything about taking people's possessions by force?

Its only 'welfare' when you don't like the people getting the money. When it is you or people you identify with it is 'getting our taxes back' or 'I earned it' or 'I deserve it' or....endless iterations of 'its different when government gives me money'.

The right needs a brain, and that social darwinist, self absorbed reactionary swamp is the closest they’re going to get, so maybe it’s an essential service for them.

The Ayn Rand Institute gets 1 million dollar LOAN, and the left's hair is on fire. Planned Parenthood gets $617 million in grants to kill the unborn (Hint: loans have to be paid back, grants do NOT) and not a peep from the hard left.....par for the course).

Indeed. I remember Reagan stoking racial hatred and social polarization with such rhetoric back in the 70s and 80s to scare people into voting for him.
His ‘aw shucks‘ demagoguery was the teat from which racist buffoons like trump sucked and brought us to the state we are in now, with white supremacists running people down with cars, selfish anti vaxxers and all the other assorted reactionaries nursing ignorant, paranoid grudges and falling for the bleach koolaid of the worst potus in history.
It’s depressing to see how broken America has become since the rise of the right wing movement.
But it’s not surprising since one of their basic goals has always been secession and the breakup of the US.
And that’s just the more peaceful ones. The rest want a fourth reich with blacks, Mexicans, and democrats playing the role of Jews.

Yes the CARES act was a joke and incompetently administered as usual. Most of what federal government does is a joke. What we need is less of it.

Republicans = elect me and I will show you just how poorly government can be run.
Probably why no major cities are run by republicans

Government runs consistently poorly regardless of the party of the people in power. Our political climate no longer motivates competent people to run for office. The cities are run by incompetents. I'm not sure why it isn't better in the cities but incompetent they are. The reason democrat incompetents are elected, however, is obviously because the cities are inhabited by a majority of democrats. Sorry, I don't do partisan. I'm not one.

Perspective on what? Why not show that males are vastly over represented in violent crime or that snow in the Arctic is white?

Back on topic, religious organizations that pay zero taxes and hide pedophiles stole over 7 billion from the taxpayer in this scheme. The Catholic church alone took 1.3 billion. And you are concerned about a family of four receiving a few thousand dollars a year in aid.

@jcarlilesiu received more “free” money than entire generations will see from welfare and food assistance but they are the issue...

    Priorities...
