We all have many pet peeves. Can you list just one? One of mine is people who leave their grocery cart on one side of an isle and then stand on the other side of the isle looking at items. There is not enough room for me to pass with my cart.
To narrow it down to one is sooo damn difficult and to have to do so is my pet peeve! Lol jk.. My biggest pet peeve is people that stand really close to you in line, especially when paying. This has nothing to do with social distancing, I have always hated people being in my space.
Yeah, females seem to do this. Once in line at the tag office a strange middle aged lady actually had her boobs up against my back. And sometimes in line at the grocery check-out the person behind me keeps bumping me with their cart. When that happens I always act like it really hurt.
It's usually men in my experience, but occasionally a female. I have had people stand so close the cashier can't tell if we're together, and when the cashier asks me I turn to the unusually close person and ask "are we together, you buying?" Of course the response was, "no" and I just say, "well then back up!"
When people in front of me at the convenience store take their time picking lottery tickets as if they have some kind of strategy. Just throw your money away and . . . let me throw my money away on beer.
Two cashiers at a convenience store discussing their boyfriends or their schedules while I stand at the counter waiting and waiting to pay for my items.
People who do not understand what 'the passing lane' means. If it takes you more than 2 minutes to pass one car, you are NOT passing.
They're the same ones that are in such a hurry to pull out in front of you but once they're in front of you, they'll just creep along at 25 mph in a 45 mph zone until you try to pass and, then, they'll speed up. Fortunately, I've mellowed in my old age so, now, before I get angry, I take a few deep breaths and then wonder why I'm in a rush.
People fumbling with coupons... I was in the grocery store line behind a woman who had a handful of coupons that had either expired, were for a different grocery store or were for a different item. Of course she had to argue with the poor clerk about each one. I finally asked her how much her coupons were worth. She said: "$3.87" I gave her $5.00 for the damn coupons, and threw them in the trash to the sound of applause from the other unfortunate people behind me.
I've done it, when people have no comprehension what the speed limit is, what obstructing traffic is, and what to do when you have multiple cars behind you on a two lane road means....
I think that most people enjoy the feeling of giving something to someone else, especially when it's appreciated and not expected. Even though I was kind and polite to the coupon lady, my feet were killing me and my motives were purely selfish. In retrospect, the poor woman could simply have been experiencing the early stages of dementia or been on a very tight budget so I'm glad that I didn't show my vexation. You never know what sort of life the next person is enjoying or enduring so I've never regretted treating others as I'd like to be treated.
Pet peeve -- Females who look around as thought they don't know where they are as their groceries are checked out and bagged. Then the cashier will tell them what they owe and they act surprised they have to pay. They start fumbling in their pocketbooks in an agitated manner and produce a check book and pen and start writing a check.
People who try to verbally communicate something to me without first indicating that they require my attention. To be fair, I have an auditory processing dissorder, so its not like I can reasonably expect them to alter there normal methods of communication just for me, and my constant requests of 'can you repeat that' (now that I know to focus on you instead of what I was doing) are probably just as annoying. But it still peeves me.
In attempt to maintain my sanity, these ppl have broken me of the perception that its incorrect to pass on the right.
