I think the term that you were searching for was "that succeeded" (not "the proceeded").

That said, anybody who has a problem with Obama's Comments is free not to vote for him the next time that he runs.

    ^Problem solved.

Anyway, I am surprised by all of the negativity that has entered this thread (that should be the Celebration of an American Patriot).

    RIP John Lewis.:salute:

Maybe someone should have told Obama not to use it for a partisan rant.

Are you kidding? Obama’s criticisms of trump have been extremely rare and usually indirect. He has now endorsed Biden and that’s normal for an ex president to endorse his party’s candidate.

Do you think trump will be as reserved and respectful as Obama is, after trump leaves office?

LOL, Obama has acted like a President in exile, continually claiming credit for the economy, right up until Covid became a thing.

Here's a particularly arrogant (as typical) example, this after he pardoned Oscar Lopez, a prolific domestic bomber and member of FALN

Obama has stayed almost entirely out of the spotlight. It’s impossible for a former president to completely disappear, but he has stepped back almost completely.

I don’t remember him taking credit for the economy (although he would be justified in doing so - no major trend line changed significantly after trump came to the WH) let alone doing so constantly.

And as for your examples - trump commuted Stone’s sentence before he served a day in prison.

Obama commuted Lopez’s sentence after 36 years behind bars. There’s no comparison.

You are right, there is no comparison, Lopez was a domestic terrorist who was, in part responsible for a series of devastating bombings in NY and Chicago, causing multiple deaths and maimings of the innocent while Roger Stone comitted a process crime in the midst of a political witch hunt.

As for not hearing of Obama taking credit for the economy, I find that hard to believe, especially if you have been active here.

The first link has a headline say Obama takes credit for the economy - but nowhere in body of the article does it say that he takes credit.

The second article gives one instance of him saying - in 2018 - “remember who started” the current economic trends. He’s right. All the trends seen in 2018 started long before 2016.
    That’s once. Hardly “constantly”.

All the former presidents showed Lewis a great deal of respect. Trump came up short. But I’m sure he’s heard that before.

Lewis smeared half of America with a lie to advance his agenda.

Its nothing new, Obama did it, Hillary did it, and so on.

Don’t flatter yourself. The racist right doesn’t come close to being ‘half of America’. They are a dying rump of paranoid and angry reactionaries and the world's reaction to their murder of George Floyd shows just how reviled they have become.
In a way, trump’s bigoted disdain has helped to propel the reaction because people can see the crude racist attitude embodied in his character and are repulsed by him and his ilk even more.
So thanks, trump. By being such a racist *******, and encouraging the white supremacists to come out from under their rocks, you have given new wings to the civil rights movement. Who would have thunk it, eh?

Can you even imagine how FRUSTRATED that Trump must be right now?

He is trailing in the polls by historic margins, he is toast in the Swing States, nothing is sticking to Biden, he is beating himself, and all that he has remaining is to personally attack a Deceased Civil Rights Icon.

Trump must be climbing the walls, knowing that he could spend all day on Twitter Spamming IMBECILIC Memes and Retweeting Alex Jones and nothing that he says or does can move the needle.

And, his attitude toward Lewis's Death is shockingly disrespectful.

Why Trump doesn't just walk away from the raging ****-show the Democrats have turned the country into is beyond me.
