Not really. You just don't understand facts and reality.

That's a rather hypocritical complaint given that you repeat untrue statements far more often than I repeat my statements.

Not at all. It is reasonable for people to point out that everything you say is untrue.

    Wrong again.

As we are endlessly assailed with nonsensical/fictional *histories* concocted by those who believe that the *us* is always right in brutally terrorizing the *them*, it might be wise to note that the Lincolns, Hitlers, Trumans and bin Ladens all have one thing in common beyond their shared butchering sociopathy, and that's the army of admiring apologists who act as human shields for their unspeakable crimes.

Ultimately, this cowering army of propagandists is as guilty (if not more so) of every crime from Lincoln's butchery to bin Laden's murder spree as if they were Hitler or Truman themselves.

Without these battalions of apologists for terrorism, the monsters would have no cover, nowhere to hide.

    Food for thought.

Obviously you know nothing about history. Hell we learned this in high school american history class!

Ignorance is no excuse. You know zip about jap cultural values during that era.

You are an embarrassment to your species. Revising history is stupidity.

You cannot provide the evidence to back up your claims. So you ignore the demand.

Gonna have to ignore you. Trolls deserve it.

Oh, but they are. You talk about a national soul, we don't have one. In 1945 we had one, we were one country. Today there is nothing but polar division. Today there are people who call themselves Americans who have no understanding or appreciation of what that means. They are American in name only, born here but have no love nor respect for America and do nothing but complain. They enjoy all of the blessings America bestows upon us but miss no opportunity to spew their hatred for America. America is certainly not perfect but a much better place than any other nation on the planet. Should America come under attack, these A-holes would refuse to defend it and most likely protest conscription. The division that exists is generated by these folks with their endless inane demands and complaints and when those demands aren't met they turn to extortion via "peaceful protests". What we are seeing in Portland, Seattle, St Louis and others is the fruits of liberal infantilism something that has characterized their movement for more than fifty years. What's relevant here is that these entitled children contribute nothing to America, feel no loyalty to America and in some perverse way celebrate that. This mentality didn't exist in America in 1945 and really has no place here now. I sincerely hope that the saner youth of America will oppose and eventually abolish this nation killing insanity.

Someone doesn't. You were poorly instructed.

I strongly concur. I'm sure I can learn a great deal from someone who refers to the Japanese as "Japs."

I choose not to, as it's a complete waste of time; people who really wish to learn will educate themselves, and until then, will insist on denying reality. I've repeatedly responded, not ignored.

The only thing more infantile than ignoring another poster is announcing that one is doing it. Who knew we could engage in personal attacks here now? w00t! :)

But as I was saying, the terrorist relies on an army of apologists to excuse, defend and praise their horrendous crimes, and by so doing, they make future terrorism inevitable; such individuals are the terrorist's hand maidens.

Perhaps our already stained soul was obliterated when Truman committed these horrendous acts of terrorism - who can say?

I think a lot of us are here today because of its use, as is many, many Japanese.

"A study done for Secretary of War Henry Stimson's staff by William Shockley estimated that invading Japan would cost 1.7–4 million American casualties, including 400,000–800,000 fatalities, and five to ten million Japanese fatalities."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opera... Secretary,to ten million Japanese fatalities.

The problem is looking back on history through 21st century eyes, mores and not taking events in history in the proper context of the times they occurred in. If you want to have an inkling of what an invasion of Japan's mainland would have looked like, look at Okinawa and the casualties taken there from both sides. Once thing is for certain, it would have been a very long, drawn out campaign. Okinawa consisted of Japanese soldiers fight to the death, not surrendering and plenty of Japanese women and children throwing themselves off cliffs in order to prevent being captured by Americans. Also completely overlooked, the Japanese still had half of their kamikaze fleet in mainland Japan for its use against America. They were ready and fighting for their homeland with their beliefs back then would be to the death.

Oh let's revise history, shall we? Hmmmm, how about we add that the US flaunted it's power in Pearl Harbor and we were just asking for it, stuck out our chins so to speak and taunted them, you see, they had no choice. Of course your superior intellect and superhuman ability to look back through 75 years and distill all of the known and unknown facts into a definitive conclusion is astounding. Damn history just never gets anything right, it's so good that people like you exist to set things straight.

Its amazing how some people simply can't accept historical facts and substitute an alternate reality and when asked to justify their position they pretend like everyone else is uneducated. Its baffling.

How much bitterness do they have over the decision to attack Pearl Harbor?
When you set the base rules by attacking as they did, then there are no rules and it's open war- so the fact you get out-gunned and lose is nobody's fault but your own. Yes, it was a horrendous experience. Even so- took two doses to convince them.

Bear in mind that the US became Japan's ally, helped it rebuild and become the international success it is today.
Had Japan won, do you think they would have treated the US the same way? Would Hitler have?

There are never wars between good guys and bad guys- just between good guys and bad guys telling you they are good guys. You have to know the difference.

    Good point me thinks

An in-law stopped over today. He wanted the phone number of an acquaintance....who is a known gun enthusiast.
Reason being, he's looking for ammo. He's been looking in stores from town to town and can't find any anywhere.
He said people are hoarding it like toilet paper.
He mentioned that his brother bought a rifle and pistol that use the same ammo hoping it might be easier to stock up
    on one kind.
In your opinion...is that where we are headed in this country? To civil war?

To be honest, that is scary- but a possibility. In my opinion, people can get along with many differences in peace and prosperity- but they MUST have some common base values about the rights of individuals to determine their own lives. When you begin to believe that all money and property is equally owned by all, regardless of their contribution for example- you have set a precedent for what is commonly known as theft, a universally recognized crime. When you believe a person's normal rights continue to exist while they are committing violent crimes, you protect and promote violent crime. When you believe that freedom of speech applies to you- but when others say what you don't agree with, it's fair to attack them on a personal basis and destroy their lives, you have destroyed the First amendment. People simply , and think the constitution should serve you above others. People MUST agree that we are all responsible for themselves; that it is their own personal job to control their own behavior and lives, and their personal obligation to allow others the same freedoms they expect for themselves.

All comes down to the quality and character of our people. I believe good people matter in that they have positive value. I believe bad people matter in that they have negative value. I don't think color makes a difference- until the person themselves use their color as a justification for negative behavior. How people matter, what their life if worth- is determined by them alone, by the life decisions they make and the conduct they choose. I think right now, we are seeing a lot of people with very negative value, who have been raised without respect for self, for others, for right and wrong- nor with the ability to think as adults, and that could lead to a point where it simply can't and won't be tolerated anymore. When that point is reached, we are all in trouble.

Orders for defensive style shotguns are so backed up the factories aren't bothering to take more. There are a few on auction sites- bringing triple the retail price, sometimes more. Certain ammunition like 9mm is extremely hard to find, and selling at twice normal price if you do find it. Applications to purchase guns are near double over last year in many areas, and a large percentage of the applicants are first-time buyers. There are at least 400 million guns in the USA, and that number if growing rapidly. Avid anti-gun people are buying guns, as they watch police being restrained while thugs attack cities- and realize that their very lives may depend on their ability to defend themselves.

What if police departments are actually defunded or disbanded?? Will there be groups such as civilian vigilantes form to fill the void; create a defense and justice system? I think that is also likely, may already be happening under the radar. Somewhat like the militia groups, but focused more on riot and violence rather than military style confrontation. Another option is martial law- which means all conventional law is suspended, and the commander in charge of the force IS the law- and shooting violators on sight is a possibility. I lived and worked under martial law with curfews in Venezuela for a month many years ago, and it certainly put an instant stop to violence there at the time.

I personally blame a lot of leadership, from congress to locals such as mayors.... and of course, the kinds of people who voted for them and tolerate them, and the kinds of media who knowingly back them. A lot of people in positions of leadership have become criminals- Sedition, Dereliction of Duty, Malfeasance of office, etc. It would also seem that those in places like Minneapolis would have grounds for class-action suits over the damage they suffered while not being provided the police protection they have paid for. Unfortunate consequence here is that the responsible people- mayors and officials, could never repay the losses. Need to be criminal prosecutions, in my opinion.

IF we move now and move powerfully to restore law and order- there would be no wars, in my opinion. Plenty of complaints, accusations of all kinds. But we have come to expect the ludicrous-
such as the rioters in Portland suing the city a couple days ago, because the cost of gear to protect them from the police and federal troops when they attack the courthouses and police stations (gas masks, body armor) is so expensive. That is the mindset we're dealing with.

Try to imagine a situation like what's going on in Portland but instead of a few city blocks it's the entire country and the local government is powerless to protect you and your family. Would you find a few firearms and a stock of ammo better to have on hand than not? How about a few month's worth of food and water? The entire US is now living with a lot of uncertainties and right now it's mostly manageable but in many ways inconvenient. Now imagine that same situation without law enforcement and government services, with power outages, no communication, no emergency services. Do you see how this could be a problem? I'm willing to bet that a Trump win in November will spark large scale riots and all of the attendant problems. Local and state law enforcement will not be able to maintain control of maniacal hordes of BLM and Antifa idiots who have decided their glory time has come. I would not characterize that as a civil war, division is certain but only one side will be the aggressors and the rest of us will be just trying to hold our ground. I'm absolutely sure that these nuts would lose but not without inflicting a lot of death and damage.

    Thanks for reply,,,
I want to be as honest as I can here, but I don't know if the rules allow it.
I honestly don't fear the ones you refer to as "thugs". I can understand their views...their actions.
I fear the Trumpists because I don't understand their views and actions.
I view Trump and his followers as dangerous to humanity.
But that is only my opinion.

It's beyond my ability to understand why you would believe that, and I'd venture to say that of everyone you have ever known, I may be the person who has worked the hardest and been most successful at mastering that skill.

Thugs... are people who just take their emotional issues out as violence against others; often anybody. That includes rioters looters, vandals and all those masquerading as "peaceful protestors". They don't understand the difference between thinking and acting as undisciplined children- and responsible adults. They always think their being angry (about anything) is somebody else's fault. Never look to themselves.

They are incapable of thinking otherwise- they lack the maturity and the responsibility; as if they were allowed to grow up without being raised or taught how to be adults. THEY are the ones who are dangerous; they are the threateners, not the threatened.

If you find that "reasonable", I would doubt you think much differently.

Killing enemy civilians is not murder. Indeed it is the whole point of fighting.
