    If they think its unconstitutional, they can litigate it. It's time for them to put up or shut up. If they want to file suit to prevent the unemployment extension, then file suit! We dare them!

    Pelosi Addled Dems got greedy. They tried to advance hard-left policies unrelated to the virus.

    Trump, like a Lion watching a rat draw near, waited for just the right moment to spring, with the kind of press conference that helps win elections, Trump explained that he was cutting through the Democrats’ ridiculous negotiating tactics and using his executive power to bring relief directly to Americans.

    The president cannot spend money without appropriation from congress. That is the unconstitutional action.

    This is nothing but an election ploy and will help zero people — but it will harm many.

    So what happens in 2 weeks when that federally enhanced unemployment check doesn't come?

    Chris Wallace interviewed Mnuchin this morning. Wallace stated that the money would be coming from FEMA finds right in the middle of hurricane season. Mnuchin did not dispute that.

    Never mind that there is no mechanism in place to transfer these funds, nor that states are unable to kick in the $100 extra per week that Trump wants.

    The extra money from federal unemployment benefits has expired. People are hurting now. The economy is hurting now. So when do those fat checks start coming again? Trump and Mnuchin are both silent on this.

    Trump's EOs left many things unaddressed, which can only be solved by Congress working with the Administration. I see them as a ploy, because they actually do very little.

    As to the payroll tax deferment, it will do next to nothing on its own. So what are we left with?

    Canada does a lot of what you advocate but they solved the problem poorer provinces (their states) have providing services with "equalization payments" from the federal government.
    What about the Bill of Rights? What if a state wants to confiscate guns?

    If he isn’t spending money not authorized by congress where is the $400 per month coming from? I know he expects states to foot the bill for $100 of it but where does the rest of it come from?

    Who will be hurt? Workers when they are expected to pay back this “payroll tax holiday” or retirees if congress waves the repayments .

    No the employers may have to pay it in 5 months and no people get SS will not be harmed by a 5 month holiday.

    He's trying to force states (that already can't afford it) to cough up $100 of it and then steal the remainder from Disaster Relief...leaving THAT short...as we go into hurricane season

    Again, he cannot reappropriate those funds. Congress must do that.
    He isn’t a dictator no matter how much his cult wants to ignore the constitution

    SS is already insolvent, you really don’t think 5 months (close to half a trillion dollars) will not impact it at all? Really?
