    The outbreaks from this event will not be confined to SD. Few of these people live there. They're going to take it home with them and spread it from there, and I don't think we have any way to track that.

    Many years ago, this annual event was created by actual bikers, not the mostly affluent enthusiasts we see there now. No Hondas or Yamahas and such, just Harleys. There was a time when I thought, in my youth, that Sturgess would be fun, but you couldn't pay me enough to spend a weekend with the openly, obviously stupid people there now. It's just too bad that they are risking lives other than their own.

    I believe in the principle of Liberty codified by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution. Having Liberty gives you the right to assume risk, be stupid, and be a Darwin candidate, what isn’t in the Constitution is a right to avoid the consequences of how you use and express your Liberty.

    Have to ask Orientals, Indians (most of our guys would have a shorter lifespan than a gnat riding there, see Snowcat's trip), and Chinese... I have no idea what party is on it when I wave, it's just 2>4.

    It's OK, just invoke the name of patron saint George Floyd and paint anti police grafitti on buildings. "Experts" agree that such "protests" dont spread anything.

    Bikers are a group that must rationalize that every right MIGHT be your last ride. Low odds, but it's possible.

    So I guess they are not too frightened by a virus with such a low chance of death.

    I am familiar with the limits of individual civil Rights as described by Justice Homes, and agree with it in broad principle, but it’s the details of the specifics that are a problem. How and who judges what constitutes what causes what harm to others and what can be done to suspend an individual’s liberty? Aside from the Covid19 virus, what would that mean to any other communicable disease carried by humans. Should those carrying communicable diseases be separated by force from the general population?

    If so, remain in your safe space for 15 days.
    Wash your hands frequently.
    Wear a mask at all times.
    Wear goggles at all times.
    Avoid contact with any other people.
    Note: Keyboards can spread the virus. Best to leave them alone just to be safe.

(Hint: I'll spare you the trouble and the wasted time by telling you, you won't find any). Are you operating from the knee-jerk that I must be some far-leftist ultra-progressive? Hint: look at the first six letters of my screen name. Once you realize that I'm not the far-leftist, ANTIFA-lover, looting-supporter you seem to be imagining, please go back to the topic of this thread, that is, the gathering of 250,000 motor bikers in Sturgis and the risk (or lack thereof) of spreading COVID-19 that this gathering might imply. I don't recall having personally started a thread about riots and looting. This one is not it. Feel free to start one, if you wish.
