Bush should have fixed it in 2004.

How would he have done that? Congress wouldn’t, some Republicans tried. Bush couldn’t without congress. He tried. The blame goes to Clinton. He pushed hard for it and wouldn’t listen to the expert Born. Y’all get upset when Presidents don’t “listen to the experts”, right?

    Agreed with your second statement.

Oh, by lockdown I assume you're referring to the response to Covid? Actually as an Austalian I think you guys have been pretty light-on even in 'Democrat-controlled cities'

We are actually at the tail end of a hard lockdown in Victoria, Australia. I won't comment on how successful Australia's Covid response was (or how we deal with our poverty issues) as I have found Americans aren't fond of being lectured by direct country comparisons.

My favourite saying is 'you do it your way and we'll do it ours' :)

GWB governed from 2001 to 2009,... when the subprime share skyrocketed, and when the mortgage crashed happened.
Typical GOP to refuse to own up when the were at the helm.

    Read post 81.
And yeah.. typical GOP to not own up when things went wrong during their presidency.
Donald does the same thing. The virus all went fine because he had it all under control, to than suddenly blame China when his "under control" was a hoax. I also saw posters blaming it al on the dems,... as if the dems are in control. If the dems were in control, than they would have impeached Donald out the WH. The GOP kept him, and look at the state of the US. The economy totally crashed. GDP shrank like what,... 30%? European countries are laughing at that number. They are around -10%. Obviously nobody did it worse that Donald / GOP.

They both need to support their protestors but also need to make it clear that the violent fringes need to be suppressed and suppressed hard.

I’m not GOP and neither was Clinton or his presidential working group that put deregulation together. Your argument is the equivalent of blaming Truman for WW2. It’s laughable.

It’s a stone cold fact the Clinton administration set up the sub prime debacle. I’ve presented the facts. All you have is propaganda and deflection. If you want to criticize Bush try “too big to fail” which he did preside over and was one of the worst precedents ever set by a president. Almost as bad as the New Deal.

Should have tried harder. :) He had a majority in Congress.
    The rate cut didn't help.

The same people in congress with power to change were the same ones who had the power to pass the legislation in the first place. Clinton was warned it was a bad idea by people in his administration. He did it anyway. Why can’t you hold him accountable? Bush was a lousy president but not responsible for Clinton’s atrocities.

This goes back to the Reagan years. If you look at a list of the people responsible, Greenspan is always near the top, and he was appointed by Reagan. Reagan got rid of the best Fed head of that century to appoint a kook. Another guy near the top is Phil "Mr Deregulation" Gramm. He did most of his damage in the 80s. There's more, like killing off the S&L banks, which was Reagan again, but that should be enough to give you a better idea of the timeline.

Bush had to deal with the consequences of a failure orchestrated 100% by the Clinton administration. Just like Truman had to deal with failures of Presidents preceding him.

    ROFLMAO at that last statement.

You accuse me of all manner of bias, you tell ME what I think and believe, then tell me you wish me well? Marybe YOU can admit that that's BS.

You are the one jumping to conclusions based on a scanty article from overseas. I don't have a problem with the BBC, far from it, but for events in the U.S., wouldn't something local be more informative? And wouldn't details be important? You didn't seem to need any details or facts in order to form your opinion on who "the villains" are in all of that.

Here for just the arguments? That was rude and insulting.

Then don't tee it up for me. Don't you know what the old time "Brownshirts" were? They were an extremely racist Nazi organization under Hitler. They did most of the work to put him in power. Sooooo not good people.

Looks like you're having the same problem with your space bar that I've been having all damn day.

I sawthe video and heard the shout about a "Trumper," but that doesn't prove anything. The video is not clear on who fired. It could have been the guy in the white tee shirt, or the guy in the black hoodie on the skateboard, or someone else. I'm not going to judge until they arrest someone.

Yes. It would suck being an incoming administration behind every one in my lifetime. They all moan about previous administrations and red or blue nothing really changes. Because y’all (as I used to) keep voting for slavers, not representatives. I believe I’m over that finally.

    From your first link:

"... no suspect has yet to be identified ..."

As for the victim, why does a man named Aaron Danielson go by the name Jay Bishop? Not judging, just curious.

As for the source of your first link:

    https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/townhall/

You second link? Wow, three whole paragraphs, with nothing about how they identified the shooter. He's a suspect, not yet arrested or charged. And that is a far right wing source, not reliable on the facts.

    https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/lifezette/

Due to all of the above, I'm not making a judgment on the shooter, not until they arrest someone.
