Working hard is only part of the equation. I’ve seen poor illiterate people become rich. One of my part time gigs in college (yes I was poor and had to pay for it) was helping a dude that came from nothing and likely had an IQ of less than 80 with his landscaping business. He was making several times the income of my professors.

Becoming rich isn’t terribly complicated if it’s what one wants. It’s just that few really want to do what it takes. Or they do stupid things to screw up their lives like trying to spam the gene pool with their genetics at 18 years of age.

In fact everything that is wrong is based on that. Not enough money to invest in America and Americans....
Mainly before Ronald Reagan and a forty-year-old giveaway to the rich....

not sure even raising taxes back to what they were under Reagan would help at this point, 30 trillion in debt, that is just crazy

But they can if they want to and don’t do stupid things. That’s the point.

it's not possible in our current system for everyone to make it (be rich) and it's getting harder and harder

people have even started to live in their cars, what does the government do, try to make it illegal to sleep in your car

Virtually everyone in the US is already top 1% of people throughout world history.

People who won’t leverage that advantage wouldn’t be able to hang on to or be happy with $10 M if it was handed to them.

I don't accept your excuses. They are crutches for the lazy. Who cares what the minimum wage is if you apply yourself and earn raises. This country is prospering and there are always opportunities. We still produce new millionaires every year.

Again, feel free to step up and work hard enough to actually have some wealth, and then watch as government takes half of it away from you. Can you tell me you'd just be happy to pay?

The harder someone works for something the better they treat it and respect it.. Todays young don't like anything they do/work, and respect very little others have accomplished and built..

Do some research on San Francisco.. Start by addressing all the middle class Hispanics that have been financial PUSHED/forced out of their generational homes in to the low income and gang infested outlying area's because RICH leftist want a shorter commute to work..

Rich Democrats are just as greedy as any other rich person..

East Asians also look different from whites. Why isn't there a problem with some East Asians? Why are there no groups dedicating to wiping them out?

~ And this boys and girls ... says it all.

~ In general Asian culture is one of self-reliance, responsibility and discipline. They are not part of the "victimhood" mentality.

I think success in the US will come to those who work hard (or smart) and don’t make bad decisions. Getting an education either formal or in business/trades is good. Just being a “go-fer” for a tradesman will suffice. People of all income levels can do this. After that it all depends on how bad you want it.

I have a boring story of my life I’m willing to share if the above isn’t what you are looking for. I’m not sure if your looking for my experience specifically or just generalities. :)

I’ll take this opportunity to thank all the others who shared their personal stories here in this thread. They are inspirational.

It would certainly help.... It is debt as a percentage of GDP that is most important. I think we need another stimulus etc unfortunately considering the putrid GOP pandemic response.... C'est la vie

we need to tax the rich and giant corporations more like their fair share so we can invest in training and education for our workers like other modern countries. People did not just magically get lazy and stupid.... 40 years of this now.... Mario Cuomo said Reagan made blaming the poor acceptable period we used to call them unfortunate which is a lot more true..... Plenty of universities were basically free before Reagan got started. Berkeley protests started being against tuition hikes not the war....
