America has benefitted civilization greatly. Why change it?

No it hasn't. America is still producing innovation and providing peace and prosperity. There is no need for change.

Yes, America is probably the most tolerant nation on earth, but that's a big part of the problem. In going too far to accommodate difference, there has been inadequate encouragement and 'guidance' to assimilate and join the common purpose.

When everyone is working at cross purposes, nothing gets done.

 

The problem is they never will be.

The white elites actively discourage assimilation (you can make a guess as to why).

 

Not in the UK, perhaps.

But in the US diversity is definitely division.

You've had exactly that for decades. Or are you suggesting that the dirt poor refugees arriving in the 1970's, who went on to do very well comparative to their white neighbours, lived in much more egalitarian times? Millions of migrants .. many of whom have been poor and uneducated .. have made America their home and immediately exploited the immense opportunities therein.

The reality of the above renders your claim a fantasy. Why you want such a thing to be true however, is another matter.

I actually have family in Canada, They're just across the border from Vermont where they go if they want some excitement. LOL Quebec is beautiful but living there is like watching paint dry.

Much truth in what you say. To paraphrase another wag, immigration, assimilation, and diversity is neither good nor bad, as long as it is known that there are only two ways to do it: smart and stupid.

Kinda true. I said diversity and division are not the same thing, but meaning inherently different. However, that does not mean that forces cannot form divisions based on diversity, pitting groups against each other based on some identity for other political (or other) purposes. The Democrats and especially Obama are very adept at that, exploiting race against race and rich against not so rich for example for political advantage.

Oh yeah. They're very good at division, and it's not just your Democrats .. the Progressive Left is doing the same everywhere. They've been at it since early this century. Things were going too well by 1999. Black Americans were catching up (and were ahead of where they are now .. thanks Obama), many migrants were establishing good lives, and there was real unity.

 

I sometimes wonder why the US bothered to kick out the Limeys. They've followed the British path ever since. Extreme class ridden inequalities? Check! Imperialism? Check! A vapid sense of self making them incapable of understanding the harm they engineer? Check! A rabid nationalism that deteriorates with the sunset of empire? Check.

Forget about the US-UK free trade deal. Just give up already and join the original Union of misery...
