It maybe...that hasn't happened though but once, when something like this happened. We shall see...we know teh Dems put it in place when they had the Senate in 92, and then again reaffirmed it with Bush Jr, in 2007...so it's possible that the GOP keeps it in place if you all bring it back
The Stevens nomination was ready for a vote after just 19 days. So, Trump is right - there is plenty of time.
Yes the used the rule once when it suited them, then abandoned it when it didn’t. But that’s only because it’s a party with no principles.
Dems likely won't concede even in a landslide situation. They are trying harder than ever to steal this election via mail fraud.
wait a second...what about the party that created the rule, in 92, then reaffirmed it in 2007...only to do a 180 in 2016, and then the GOP in a offer of goodwill, removed the rule, only to have the Dems flip flop again....sounds like the Dems are the ones with no principals here....can't seem to make any of you happy
Harry Reid started all of this declaring the nuclear option. So, don't blame Republicans. Take the mote out of your own eye first. Now, to this idea that anything is being rushed. Why does it have to be tagged to the election in the first place? A Supreme Court justice dies and needs to be replaced to have an odd number on the court of 9 justices so there are no ties. If it takes 30 days or 180 days, why is the time so important to you? I would think with Biden hiring so many lawyers for the election that you could see it's important to have a final outcome if it goes to the SCOTUS again. And, the Constitution doesn't say anything about when a nomination is done for the SCOTUS. A third of the nominations over the history of the country has been in the final year of a President's term. So, stop crying. Elections have consequences as Obama said.
Well yeah the Biden Rule was never at issue there wasn't a empty seat to fill during an election year...with that said in 2007 Chucky made clear the Biden Rule was still the rule https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/schumer-in-2007-dont-confirm-any-bush-supreme-court-nominee
What month did Biden call Obama's attempt to get Merrick Garland seated on the Supreme Court either an "abuse of power" or "constitutional abuse"? You tell me.
There was never a rule until 2016, unless you can give me another example of a Scotus nominee not getting so much as a hearing.
There is no gaurantees (especially with mail in voting) and the President is for 4 years, a justice is for life, no reason not to act now. None whatsoever. After the crap democrats pulled for 4 years, they can suck an egg.
