You need to keep in mind that there is a risk that Trump may be incarcerated in the near future.

Giving the Nobel to a criminal would be frowned upon by the rest of the world.

Awesome! We now have a 3-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, one who actually deserves one.

All due respect Logic, but this is a huge nothing burger. How is it “progress towards peace” when its between 3 countries that aren’t fighting ? They literally are 3 countries who have open borders to allow the free travel to and from each of those countries. This is tantamount to a “peace deal” between the US and Canada.

There were some economic incentives in the deal between the three that are good, but to call that a peace deal, and not what it really is, which is a economic pact between the countries, is nothing but poilitics.

Unlike Trump, ghandi was actually a proven racist to,
the guy felt offended that indians where treated asbad as those african savages(his words) when he was in south africa.
and was a admirer of the barbaric caste system in india .

really not a person i would want to relate with

It is politics, and it is progress which is something that has been sorely lacking for decades. It turns out that its hard to mediate peace between nations when your dropping bombs all over the area. I agree that its not a whole lot, but every bit of pressure that we can exert in the area that doesn't involve people dying is a good thing. Economic success of the nations involved will push more nations to join and the more that join the weaker the dissenters. Its kinda brilliant, of course its a long term strategy that likely won't outlast Trump as both parties do like their wars. Any way it turns out it is still nice to see a change of approach.

Interesting. So how did a man like that broker multiple peace accords between countries who have been fighting for decades?

Simple. He didn't. There isn't peace.

This is just a self-aggrandizing PR advertisement to, falsely, promote the idea that his administration is "winning" at something. The emperor has no clothes.

i am sorry but when a group of nations don't even recognize the other nation exist..and now does...that is peace...that is winning

I get that the Dems, Biden and Iran don't want to acknowledge Israel, but getting the rest of the world to is a good thing

There were 318 "recommendations for consideration" this year.

Trump was SUBMITTED for consideration by a Norwegian right wing member of parliament and by a Swedish right winger.

Of note...Joe Stalin was submitted twice

Trump has been nominated, but that’s not the “big thing” he makes it out to be. There are 318 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020 — 211 are individuals and 107 organizations.

Any one of thousands of people can nominate someone for the prestigious award. And two people have come forward saying they nominated Trump.

But on its website, the Nobel committee warns not to attach too much importance to a nomination.

“Any person or organization can be nominated by anyone eligible to nominate,” the committee states. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has no input into submissions, though it decides who actually wins the prize. “To simply be nominated is therefore not an endorsement or extended honour to imply affiliation with the Nobel Peace Prize or its related institutions,” the committee states.

um you know how many people there are in the world? That's a rather small group of people/organizatinos being nominated...a select group.

With that said, I don't disagree the aware means little as of late...given they gave one to the warmonger Obama, and a leader of a terrorist organization....but who knows maybe they'll start to turn things around here

Like him or not, he’s actually done more for peace than Obama ever did. Obama just let China roll over everyone. He started a war or two. He gave Iran a terrorist nation, billions. But hes black so hand him a peace prize. He deserves it:) AA at its finest.
