There you have it. Public condemnation and desertion from Trump's cause is growing. Joe Biden is kicking orange anus. Donald Trump is under pressure from the GOP to come up with something to forestall a total debacle in the POTUS election which will drown the GOP in red ink and consign the lapdog GOP lawmakers to the wilderness for decades. Donald Trump will be desperate in the next debate and he has no success stories to replace his disgusting tactics with. https://thehill.com/homenews/campai...13-point-lead-over-trump-in-new-national-poll
We have two old men. One is a nasty, sleazy, arrogant buffoon. The other one is nice, fairly decent and respectable. Donald Trump can't change any of that in the last 3 months of a campaign, so he decided he would throw everything into disrupting and confusing and bullyingJo e in the hopes that Joe would be so rattled that folks would see signs of dementia when he lost his train of thought due to the interruptions. I don't think that is going to work. We just imagine Trump doing the same thing as the G7 summit, or during treaty negotiations or to Congressmen who's votes he needs. Donald Trump does not take disappointment well or losing particularly graciously, and that is a skill every President needs in order to turn yesterday's adversaries into tomorrow's allies.
and dull, and just a little noticeably slow Maybe Biden would make a better diplomat, but this is a decision-maker job we are talking about here. Maybe we should call back Bernie. Under normal circumstances, his age would disqualify him, but he is not much older than Trump or Biden.
The left wing pollsters love how much anger they stirred up throughout the Democrat voting base for the last four years by making them feel certain that Hillary had the election win guaranteed. They had so much fun dividing and angering half the country that they've decided to do it again. Biden has the election in the bag! lol Based on the geography of the population, Biden needs an estimated 5% margin on the popular vote to get close to 270 electoral votes. Even with that estimate, California could mail in 15 ballots per person and Biden would have 50 billion kajillion more popular votes than Trump and still lose.
See, I rather like most of Biden's decisions. I like most of them better than Bernie or Trump. They both tend to be a bit more inflexible and stubborn than Joe , albeit from very different places. Bernie makes his ideology his guiding star, while Trump makes his ego his guiding star. Biden sees a policy world with a bit more nuance and complexity than they do and he will listen to a broader array of viewpoints than they.
Maybe it only seems that way to you since Biden has no guiding star. He'd be something like the Manchurian candidate, except without the mind control.
Oh he has more than one guiding star. He does have an ideological vision, a moral vision, and religious vision and he has pursued as a senator, as a man etc. Its just his stars don't guide way left, or way right. He is just as passionate about what he believes as anyone far to the left or right would be. Trump's guiding star is his own self interest. He literally has no moral compass at all, no sense of either a secular or religious set of ideals that I have found. Literally nothing matters to him but winning.
You would make a good campaign advisor for the Biden campaign, a better one than he has now. The only pitfall I could see is some people might think the claims in the campaign were a little over the top and full of the usual political bs. And that moral vision thing might be a little hard to sell, considering...
I keep hearing vague comments laced with snark and innuendo, but no substance here. Curious to know what evidence you have that he does not have a moral, religious, political or philosophical vision?
I would be curious to know what there is to indicate he has any big vision? It's one thing if you want to argue he would make a good president, but for you to try to argue he "has vision", that is a much more difficult argument to make.
I suspect you and I see this fundamentally differently. The normal state of a person is to have a vision, have a moral center that guides, have an idea of what he wants to have happen. If there were 20 politicians, I submit that 19 of them have a moral, philosophical and ideological vision that forms a structure within which most of their decisions are built. That's why they are politicians. Its why they became city councilmen or decided to be on the library board even if it was all volunteer job. I don't think Biden's is abnormally passionate about the public policy questions. I think he is the norm. The fact that he has changed or evolved on some issues is normal. But he is to his core an old fashioned liberal New England democratic catholic, right out of the same batch Tip O'Neil, Geraldine Ferraro etc. It would be impossible for anyone to be a remotely good president if he does not have a philosophical, moral and ideological vision. I definitely believe even LBJ and Nixon had a philosophical, moral and ideological vision they hoped to promote in office despite their decided drift away from that vision over the course of years in power.
Yeah, what's that ? Knocking off leaders of foreign countries, spreading death and misery around the globe and profiting from aid money created out of thin air by central banks ? Probably earn him a front row in heaven.
My choice would of course be the passionate social democrat , Bernie Sanders. Bernie is against all those points points outlined by you above; except that the last displays your own confusion about money creation in the post gold standard fiat currency era. You would obviously have central banks do nothing, as they did in the GD, leading to an unemployment catastrophe in the West which had people looking to the USSR for guidance, in the 30's.
The key word there is "could"; doesn't necessarily mean that it will happen and in spite of fears by Trump and party, it's not going to happen as much as they might hope (it would be a way to challenge the election) as the democrats are doing their best to make sure, especially with Trump in office threatening legal action if one person votes illegally, that everything is on the up and up.
Liberals never learn. The bogus polling is exactly the same as it was in 2016, and this particular steaming pile had all of 796 people deciding the fate of our nation. What a joke...
No we must not. In fact FYI we must introduce an international rules-based system and de-legitimize war as a means of dispute settlement between nations; but meanwhile in any case, defense expenditure within a nation can be sensibly limited by democratic choice. As for private (central) banks being "handed trillions of dollars", no. Rather, necessary public sector expenditure can be funded by central bank money creation, alongside money creation in private banks, limited only by available resources on which to spend the money (private AND public) , and the productive capacity of the nation (to avoid inflation), again according to democratic policy choice (as opposed to central bank ideology), a different thing altogether. Read "The Deficit Myth" by prof. Stephanie Kelton.
QE simply enriches private banksters. eg in the GFC, people's mortgages were still foreclosed and tossed into the streets... while the banksters still pocketed their bonuses.
The race may be a lot more close than we imagine, with 'the Silent Majority' showing up to counter 'the free-stuff radicals'. "Free-stuff" has attracted a very large contingent, especially after it became so accepted during Comrade Obama's regime, so nobody on the Right should simply assume a Trump re-election. Biden may be an obviously decayed, somewhat demented and wholly corrupt 'machine-politician', but Trump seems to have a knack for being needlessly obnoxious and corrosive toward those he disdains. Prediction: this election will not produce a clear result on the night of November 3rd -- AND -- even by December 3rd, we STILL won't have a officially-declared 'winner'. No. The election results will be fiercely contested no matter WHO is 'ahead', and the whole damn thing will have to be ruled on by the Supreme Court, in all likelihood...(?). It can only be hoped that the matter is finally decided by Inauguration Day, on January 20, 2021. Truth? It may not be....
these polls have really got me down, I have told all my friends and relatives not to bother voting, makes no difference now, Trump is beaten, its over man, its over, no point in even filling out a ballot anymore, oh where did we go wrong, sob sob.
