Due diligence to me means to insure that the nominee is qualified to sit on the Supreme Court for life. To Ted Cruz it means getting to the bottom of important things like "Do you speak any foreign languages? Do you play any musical instruments? Do your children take music lessons? Why did you adopt 2 children?"

WOW! Hard hitting going for the real information America needs. Why does everything the Senate does seem to revolve around not doing their jobs?

Because if they were doing their jobs they wouldn’t be getting what they want.

Don’t forget Mike Lee’s hard hitting question for Kavanaugh on his preference in pens.

Got to love that Democrat from Hawaii asking her if she ever was a sexual pervert.

Seems like it might be worth getting on record since Kavanaugh came about.

She was asking the question to get it on the record. She was asked and she said no. Do you think a person who has engaged in sexual harassment should become a member of SCOTUS? If not, what is your issue with her being asked that question?

In fairness, we see this in all confirmation hearings. Reps do it - Dems do it. They fall in lock step with their party, generally, and don't do 'due diligence' when it comes to a nominee from their own party.

Maybe they remember the last time they confirmed her for a position and see all this hoopla as a waste of taxpayers time and money...

Is that because women can’t sexually assault anyone?

Would they see it as a waste of time if it were a Dem nominee do you think?

Sotomayor and Kagan didn't receive this level of nastiness...

If you are a Texan you can vote against him next time it comes up. These are called softball questions that you will encounter from either side of the aisle.

I am just glad the Dembots are learning today about the concept of serveribility......you'd think dembots would do their due diligence and would have learned their leaders were lying to them about the healthcare being stolen

They might as well ask if she still beats her dog.

How many women have sexually assaulted you?

For me it would be my lucky day

What level of nastiness? I've been watching and am not seeing 'nastiness'. Asking questions is now considered 'nastiness'?

You think that beating a dog is equivalent to sexual harassment?

It is certainly your right to assume that about me, but it doesn't make you correct. Don't you believe that Justices should be challenged? Their writings brought to light? Shouldn't they be made to defend their past rulings? I especially think - with a lifetime appointment - EVERY American would want to see 'due diligence'.

I will agree that Kavanaugh faced nastiness, but I'm not seeing it with this nominee at all.

    This conversation isn’t about Trump.

So if you take the subject seriously, answer the question.
