Just a quickie -- "Did you watch either "town hall" Thursday night? (Trump or Biden)"

I didn't. Instead, I watched a fascinating program about the Medicis during the Middle Ages in Italy. Much of what I saw could have been taken right out of today's news, and that's really SICK.

In many ways -- too many -- what goes on in the U. S. today reminds me a lot of the devious, back-stabbing between über-powerful families that went on throughout Italy back in that time.

 

History has a way of repeating itself. I switched back and forth. The moderator on the Trump stage tried awful hard to inject her answer into the topics. Biden only had a handful of people and they all read their questions off cards ,which to me meant, he was already fed the answers.

 

I didn't watch either of them. But I have to say I'm pretty tickled that Biden won the night with more viewers.

There's a variety of reasons on why that would be that don't need to mean Biden will win the election, such as Trump fans not wanting to tune into an NBC outlet. Trump is also a well known quantity, and while Biden is too, people don't need to tune in to Trump to hear about his plans. He doesn't really have any. The Republican party itself doesn't even have a platform. It's all personality based, rooted in trusting Trump to do what's best, whatever he may decide that is at any given hour. There are more than a few Trump voters who don't even like the guy, and don't care to listen to him, but are going to vote for him because he's not the Democrats. They don't need to tune in to hear him ramble and dodge.

But even so, it tickles me because I know it will bother Trump. That kind of thing matters deeply to him, because everyday of his presidency has been about attention-whoring and fishing for compliments(when he's not self-complimenting that is). He is a shallow unstable man on the best of days, but even more so right now as most narcissists are when they feel their fragile facade is being threatened.

There wasn't any point in watching. Everyone capable of being honest about this already knew that it would be Trump 'debating' a Trump-hating leftist 'moderator' while fielding very difficult but loaded and biased questions whereas brain damaged Biden would receive pre-determined softball style and gently lobbed questions while being 'moderated' by a fellow who essentially works for the political interests of the DNC.

We also knew that Trump would easily plow though his 'debate' while even with all the help in the world Biden would barely manage to stumble through his. According to reviews, that's exactly what did happen. So . . . no surprises and thus . . . no interest and no relevance to this nation.

 

I did not. I was watching more important things (to me). The race to the World Series. Go Braves!

 

It might bother him until the story comes on about some lady who has a bakery and makes Biden and Trump cookies and has predicted who will win the presidency since 2008. At present she's sold about 4.5 thousand for Trump to 1.6 thousand for Biden . That should get his grin back on. I'm one of those who watched Biden even though I'm a Trumper.
Two of the people who asked questions are now known to have worked in the Obama and Biden administrations.

 

Radical Democrats never 'play fair' about anything. It's not in their nature to do anything but distort and MANIPULATE.

 

Caught a few moments here and there. Boring. Didn't see a reason to keep watching either.

 

I watched the Biden town hall.

 

Yes, I watched the Trump town hall live, then replayed the Biden town hall on YouTube. ABC and NBC continuing to collude on their anti-Trump, pro-Biden spin propaganda was obvious and no surprise.

Outside of the media's political strategy, the actual content wasn't very interesting.

 

If it was the townhall where the Pink Pantsuit debated Trump, yes I watched that one. What a debacle that was. Townhalls suck to begin with, but that one really really sucked.

 

That really wasn't a Town Hall. It was an Obama/ Clinton/Biden alumni get together thrown together by George Stephanopoulos. Actually it was a practice debate for Biden for his upcoming encounter with Trump.
Questions I would like to hear asked of Biden.

1. Some of your best lunch and hang around buddies were your mentor (your words) Robert Byrd WV. (K K Klansman), James Eastman, Strum Thurmond, Herman Talmage segregationist all. What was the attraction?

2. You and Obama pushed the ACA and said you can keep your Dr. and it would cost less. Known lies?

3. You said you had no idea what Hunter was doing and yet here he is being exposed as getting kickbacks from the Ukraine, China and Russia. So why is Hunter upset about having to give you and the family half his money?

4. How you able to afford that lifestyle your living on a Senator and Vice-President pay?

5. You talk Blue Collar and union jobs. What blue collar jobs have you ever held Joe?

6. Are you for or against fracking Joe?

7. Are you willing to destroy the Constitution by court packing & overturning the 2nd Amendment.

8. What do feel about Twitter and Facebook violating free speech?

 

All excellent questions, ones that would never be asked, and if they were, would not be answered.

One thing that struck me is the scripted and controlled nature of the Biden show, as opposed to the Trump one, which was exactly the opposite.

It raised a question in my mind: Would I rather have a president who is unfiltered and speaks his mind, even if what he says is course or unpopular, or one who presents a carefully polished monologue that was prepared for him by someone else?

I'll take the plain speaker over the kabuki theater any day. At least I know where he stands.

 

You can't no where he stands. Every time he opens his mouth, his worshipers show up here to explain, "No, no ... what he really meant was..... blah blah blah."

He changes his mind more frequently than his underwear.

 

This is a year to vote for the party platform, not the candidate (just like 2016). Do you have conservative values and feel more comfortable with Republican leadership and policies, want border security and legal immigration, support for oil? Do you have liberal/socialist collectivist values based on skin color and sex, and want to enlarge the government bureaucracy with the belief that the government is going to use the extra taxes to help people achieve "equity", and that the extra costs of gasoline/electricity are worth wiping out fossil fuels for "green".

Pretty easy choice for me. I'd prefer to have conservatives succeed in the long run.
