I can't wait to answer your question right after you answer. Are you in favor of disarming armored car guards?

So how did South Korea, 1st confirmed infection on the same day as the US and with a death cult actively spreading it, crush this virus like a bug and with such decisiveness they didn't even need to lockdown? 'Nobody could stop this' yet the Koreans (and Chinese once they stopped trying to cover it up) did just that? Reality makes Trump guilty of a quarter million manslaughters if this world had any kind of justice.

I was nudging you toward the obvious, while a state can regulate, such regulations must fit within constitutional law. One cannot regulate a right away, as leftist hell holes were doing and one cannot grant the politically connected a constitutional right while denying it to the overwhelming majority who are not connected.

Put another way, 'must issue' is constitutional while 'may issue' is not.

Actually, we fear 'voting' that involves more votes than existing people and many of those voting shuffled off to the bone yard long ago.

Dodging yet again, with failure to provide proof of not only your original claim, but all the others you've used to seem like you are actually saying something when you are saying nothing.

Why don't you answer it directly?

That is a deliberate DISTORTION of the FACTS!

Your right to OWN a firearm does NOT equate to a right to a CCW permit.

Even YOU concede that convicted criminals do NOT have a right to own a firearm.

I shudder to think where this thread has devolved to on Page 15, but the early voting numbers continue to blow the mind

I found this website today, that I bookmarked.... Seems to be some sort of Election Science project, gathering data from around the country (He doesn't have NY)

    https://electproject.github.io/Early-Vote-2020G/index.html

Going to the Turnout vs 2016 tab, look at these state pcts vs 2016 - These seem to be the Top 5

    Texas 79.9%
    Montana 69.6%
    North Carolina 65%
Georgia 64.9% (Good job fighting the suppression there)
    Tennessee 61.1%

I'm positive most of this early voting was because of COVID, but I really think many states will decide early voting is easier for them and easier for the voters and will start becoming the norm.

Japan did very well too. It is a cultural thing. When you have a mono-culture, you can handle this thing better. When you have millions in the streets "peacefully protesting" for months on end with the blessing of the Democrats, the MSM and the medical community, the virus is bound to spread.

The facts don't really matter though, I believe Trump will lose this election. What worries me greatly about Biden is his eagerness to enforce federally mandated lockdowns. This would be a gross and flagrant step towards authoritarianism. For all the complaints about Trump's "fascism", he respected the separation of powers and allowed states to handle the crises in their own way. Biden has no such respect for state rights and will work diligently to accrue power to the federal government at the expense of them. I believe violence will arise when he attempts to shut down the economies of Red states. They will ignore the federal mandates and the question will be whether Biden enforces the mandates at the point of a gun or not.

Hong Kong had protests that literally went Medieval in it's valance. Still stopped the virus cold. Now lets step away from the good examples and look at the ****ups. Italy resorted to mass graves it got so bad but once they owned their ****up and locked down (for real, not the closing bars for a week and asking folk to wear masks 'lockdown' the US had)? In the clear with remaining areas of infection contained. This is 100% on Trump being an incompetent idiot.

No you don’t or you (Republicans, not you personally) would be pushing for consolidated systems that track and automatically purge voters on death; instead you (Republicans, not you personally) push to reduce the number of voting sites making people wait in lines for hours, ways to limit voter participation, illegal purging because someone hasn’t voted in the last two elections... You (Republicans, not you personally) push to limit discarding of votes because of slight changes in signature or if they arrive after Election Day because of the USPS that you (Republicans, not you personally) tried to sabotage not being able to deliver them quickly.

Let’s stop pretending Republicans are really just concerned about the sanctity of the vote. It insults everyone’s intelligence.

A nationalised approach is the only way it can work though, because it's all about controlling movement.

Reducing or eliminating movement is the key to controlling any pandemic, and if people won't do it voluntarily it has to be enforced. It's a bummer, but it's the only way to defeat this thing. A short period of nil movement and all businesses/schools etc shut down, is all it takes. It's then safe to return to pre-COVID life as we have in this country - other than closed state and national borders (freight being the exception, of course). Those borders will re-open at some point, but they're not super urgent. Local economies are far more important, and they're thriving in the states which came out of lockdown in May/June. I'm sure America could have done the same thing .. and probably still could.

Yeah... that can't happen here. The federal government neither has the power to do such a thing, nor the manpower to enforce it.
And if Trump had tried it, the left would have screamed "Dictator!!! Authoritarian!!" loud enough to be heard on the moon -- the ACLU and every other leftist organization you can dream of would have taken it to court, and won.

Any sort of solution here, regardless of what it is or when it is introduced, must face the fact that Americans are used to exercising their right to do pretty much what they want, and will continue to do so at whatever level they feel comfortable with.

Not to mention, for some unfathomable reason, preventing elections officials from verifying and tabulating mail in votes early.

Here's somebody who's not great at comparing apples to apples

    SNIP
It’s hard to believe there’s only a 1% rejection rate,” Laxalt said, citing state election data showing that more than 98% of the 190,000 mailed ballots received to date in Clark County had been accepted as valid. He noted that once a signature is verified, no campaign can challenge that vote.

In 2016, Nevada counties reported that 1.6% of absentee ballots returned were rejected, according to data collected by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission. Nationally, about 1% of absentee ballots cast were rejected that year.

Again, equal treatment under the law. Equal Justice. If one group is routinely granted permission and another group is excluded and these groups are groups because of their political positions or status as connected or not, then 'may issue' is yes, unconstitutional.

Feinstein's decision to issue herself the only carry permit in San Francisco when she was mayor was and is unconstitutional.

Except for the ridiculous Feinstein example, is this a regular thing?

Are we excluding people with a middle initial starting with J, for example? Which types of people get routinely excluded, even though everyone else in their "group" qualifies? How do I know which group I am in?

President Trumps fault

Getting these Democratic Crapholes to do the Right thing is like trying to Herd Cats.

Perhaps you should be one to to tell these protesting nursing home residents that they must die alone and never hug their grandchildren again. These people have months or maybe a year of life left. What better way of spending their last days is there than completely isolated from their loved ones. Perhaps when you are old and dying, there will be a nanny government out there to protect you from sickness by keeping you in complete isolation, wouldn't that be nice?

    upload_2020-10-25_21-37-54.png

    https://www.theblaze.com/news/nursi...acility-rather-die-from-covid-than-loneliness

By the way, 34% of the excess deaths this year have been in response to the lockdown. The difference in this instance is that they are among the young and healthy.... deaths of despair. You are trading the lives of the old and sickly for the lives of the young and hopeless (mostly latino).
    upload_2020-10-25_21-48-20.png

Here is the real calculus, you are trading the lives of people with 50 years of life left for the lives of people with less than 5.
