What will you do if Biden is elected?

I don’t know how anyone can not know they are stretching themselves and living beyond their means.

The easy part is judging how others could not be as thoughtful and thorough as you or I.

As I said, it's clear based on the volume of victims that the predatory practices were intentional and well planned which means the business practices being used were corrupt and set up to deceive and manipulate. People are scammed everyday in many ways so I'm not surprised so many were conned.

I hope I would not fall for something so blatant but I'm also a person who approaches any business transaction with skepticism and it's always helped me navigate situations I am not well educated in.

I will drink a beer. Go to bed. Go to work the rest of the week and perhaps take my new Sig out to the range if Joe wins.

I will do all the above if Trump wins as well.

In December 2019, in an interview with Telemundo, Biden expanded on the topic by saying that "Bidencare" — a proposed expansion of the Affordable Care Act — would provide 12 million immigrants who are here illegally with "a public option and they'd be able to buy in just like anyone else could."

Biden in no way is looking to “tear down” energy inefficient homes. It is beyond absurd to make such a claim. You really believe he can just order people to tear down their home?

I think it’s either a case where people who got in over their heads are either borderline mental challenged or they didn’t care that they were getting in over their heads because that seems to be the way of life in the US. Most people love beyond their means one way or another.

Twenty years has taken its toll on my memory. I'm not even sure if I have the following correct, and ask you correct me if I am wrong, but ---- the Dems didn't have Obama on either the Michigan or Florida ballots and then took half of the votes for Hillary and gave them to Hussein, giving him the party nomination.

They had the single most left-wing woman in Congress drop out of the primary running altogether, then bring her back in after competitors dropped out. Biden wins, she's back in.

That's turning the carousel back on so the carnies can ride free after the rubes all go home.

Pelosi mumbles 25th Amendment research and nobody thinks it's for a guy they intend to beat at the polls, so it's either Term #2 for Trump or to get Joe Biden out of office...thanks to Hunter's exploits.

Timing. And it went wrong. Or did it? Will forensic exam of that laptop show its contents are legitimate? Can we expect such an exam at all if Daddy takes the reins?

Banks give loans on the purchase price of a house so I'm confused on your statement that banks gave loans inflated by 3X tthe home value.

It's spelled "loser," unless you mean leftists loosening their tinfoil hats after the EC-vote. They'll need to.

Do you actually know anything about the Green New Deal which plans to replace or retrofit every building in the US over a 10 year period. Maybe you should read what it is about before making further claims -- and also read about Biden's support for the Green New Deal on his web site.

Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face.

I second the beer proposition. A good IPA or two...

Probably won't stay up long enough to get the results.

The next morning, I get up as usual on a Wed. at 6 am, to prepare for my lecture at 8:30. Same old, same old, no matter who wins.

It's misused here so often you were only coincidentally the first I replied to about it.

We loose a tight rope. We lose an election. Unless you're Trump.

    Then you said, quite rightly....

Many municipalities seek to address not just energy-inefficient housing for low-income people, but also raise rental standards overall for all rental units and any other properties not actually lived-in by the owner.

Some towns don't allow "as-is" condition for sale of even the main domicile, but insist the building be brought up to code. The place I live in required homeowners renting apartments in that same domicile to install separate heating (and ductwork requiring ripping out walls) for the rental unit above. It instantly forced elderly homeowners out of a reliable second income.

I am an independent who left the box empty for president in 2016.
I wanted neither, so I voted neither.

I will vote this time around for president. I don't like the shape we are in as a country. So, I will be voting for a change in policy.

No one can win presidency with only party support. At best, each party has about 35% of the electorate. Leaving 30% or so, who determine the direction of the country.
It's why it bounces all the time between parties.
Only if the 2 parties didn't squelch any opportunity to get a 3rd or more party to become viable. The 2 parties love they only have to compete against each other and work very hard to keep them the only 2.
We need to get independents to be 50% or more of the electorate.

The min wage has been increased dozens and dozens of times thoughout history. It's never hurt the economy.

In fact, most times the fed min wage only catches up to what the rest of the country is already paying.

I was referencing the 2008 housing crisis when banks and other lenders worked together to scam 1st time homeowners and those refinancing their loans. The value of the homes were inflated so that the loans would be inflated. After the housing bubble burst the value of the homes decreased so much that homeowners owed more against their loans then what their homes were worth. It was a huge deal back in 2008. I can't believe this is new information to some on this forum.

Automation at the likes of McD's is happening in areas where min wage is $7.50. Min wage is not the sole driver of automation.

I always had that same dream. I voted third party in 2016, against both Trump and Clinton. But as independents rise, according to Gallup, they're at 42% of the total electorate. It seems the two major party become more hard core ideological and less willing to work across the aisle as they were did in the past.

What we need is a viable third party, but that won't happen. The Republicans and Democrats write our election laws and they do so as a mutual protection act. If there's one thing both agree on, even in our modern age of polarization and mega, ultra, high partisanship, it is no viable third party will ever rise. They have a monopoly on our election system and they both are determined to keep it that way no matter how large independents become.

Majority in U.S. Still Say a Third Party Is Needed

I started supporting Jim Webb in 2016, but when he didn't campaign, he probably knew the fix was in, I switched to Kasich and stayed with him until it became apparent Trump would win the nomination. Then I went with Johnson. A chance to officially register my vote as being against both Trump and Clinton. Amazingly, 9 million other Americans did the same. They were willing to go to the polls and vote for a candidate they knew had no chance of winning, no money, no media, no means to get their message out, no name recognition, just a third name on the ballot. Just in order to show their disdain for both major party candidates.

As I said: Historically increasing the minimum wage in most cases did no increase unemployment, but of course there are some cases were increasing the minimum wage will hurt the business.
