Wrong again, at least if you're counting "votes". For example, in 2016 Wyoming cast 255,849 votes for various presidential candidates. Texas cast 8,969,226. Dividing those numbers by Wyoming's 3 EC votes and Texas' 38 gives you:

Wyoming: 85,283 voters per EC vote.
Texas: 236,032 voters per EC vote.

The ratio is actually ~2.77:1, not 4:1.

Also worth mentioning: any Texan that cares can nearly triple the effect of his vote on the electoral college by moving to Wyoming, and they're all free to do so, which makes all this crying over the Electoral College ring hollow to me. If it matters to you, move. But it doesn't matter much to most people, which is why people aren't moving to Wyoming in droves, and which is why the Electoral College isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I was using population, which while lacking in accuracy, was sufficient to make my point.

It takes nearly three votes in Texas to equal one in Wyoming. That's the problem.

    Thanks for the correction, though.

I don't think it's a problem. Most Texans don't seem to think it's a problem. I suspect the same is true for most of the citizens living in Wyoming.

Lol. Of course. Turn the tables and they'd see the problem. So would you.

Incorrect, thats on the democrat platform. They tell everyone but the straight white male they have reason to be angry at striaght white men. Born in 2002 as a straigth white male? You are seen as the oppressor by the left.

The republicans, are simply recognizing the objective truth.

“Moving” is not the issue or the solution.

The fact remains that Wyoming has FAR more representation per capita than more populous states.

    That’s wrong

What is your proposed solution? How much larger do you think we should make the House?

Agreed. The EC is a remnant of slavery.

Electoral College is ‘vestige’ of slavery, say some Constitutional scholars

When the founders of the U.S. Constitution in 1787 considered whether America should let the people elect their president through a popular vote, James Madison said that “Negroes” in the South presented a “difficulty … of a serious nature.”

During that same speech on Thursday, July 19, Madison instead proposed a prototype for the same Electoral College system the country uses today...

Madison, now known as the “Father of the Constitution,” was a slave-owner in Virginia, which at the time was the most populous of the 13 states if the count included slaves, who comprised about 40 percent of its population.

During that key speech at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Madison said that with a popular vote, the Southern states, “could have no influence in the election on the score of Negroes.”

So he was saying that electoral votes should trump popular votes because his state didn’t have enough voters to matter unless you counted slaves as 3/5 even though they could not vote

    ohhh

“The House” is not the issue other than gerrymandering

I don't think it's "wrong". It's part of the deal that created our nation. Overall, that's been good for all states, large and small. It's not something I'm prepared to discard on a whim.

Describe how having less representation has been good for larger states

So we can do away with the EC and people who don’t like it can move to states with people in them lol

We can do anything we can convince 38 states to support. Do you think you can convince 38 states to "do away with the EC"? I don't.

Nah, probably best case is to tweak distribution of electors or get more states to agree to give theirs to the popular vote winner

How would you like to "tweak distribution of electors"?

Good luck getting more states to join the NPVIC. Everyone sees it for what it is: a blue-state project for blue-state power.

This isn’t just an election year, this is literally during the election.
