I didn't realize SK thinks we abandoned them. Where did you hear that and why did we leave our troops behind? Did we forget to bring them with us?

Look at Trump's buddy-buddy attitude with NK, his attacks on our support for SK, calling off exercises with them as a favor to NK, etc.

So? How has that abandoned them? Its called playing diplomat which his job and he got further on NM than anyone else has. Sorry SK didn't get to shoot pretend missiles one time but they need to get over it.

Trump gave NK gifts, got nothing substantial in return, and left our actual allies doubting US commitment. I'm sorry this offends you, but it remains true.

He got the remains of many soldiers. You may not care about that but their loved ones do. And what did that cost us that made it such a waste that you don't think bringing our servicemen home was worth?

And then NK put a halt on sending the remains back that they were supposed to send, after getting what they wanted out of the deal. They baited Trump, Trump was warned they would not deliver, and he fell for it anyway. This is what happens when an idiot's ego is worth more than those remains you claim to care about.

NK got more out of it than we did, and we shat on our allies in the region in the meantime. This was never about remains. This was about an emotional and intellectual child's photo day.

The public legitimacy of a US meeting, which they've been seeking for years, having military exercises ended, which they've been seeking for years, getting public praise from the President of the US.

    Which translates to what exactly?

    Nothing?

Are they magically doing better because they had a meeting with Trump?

It translates to us giving them things that they wanted without anything substantial in return, lending them legitimacy while alienating our allies in the region, etc. Our generals, including Mattis, warned Trump about all of this. I understand that you think that exchanging love letters with a mass murdering dictator while ******** out our allyships/strategist interests in the region is "nothing," but I disagree.

It's a nice thing to have dependable friends. Under Trump, we became undependable. Hopefully, Biden can reestablish dependability as an American value.

Which equates to what in the real world? What are they now using that legitamacy for exactly?

Face it, Trump gave them nothing at all but a meaningless gesture which is worth zero.

How are we not dependable now? Was there another world war we didn't fix for them or something? Who actually needed us and we weren't there for them?

Which is a pity, because the North Korean people are suffering dearly. Had we not been involved, they would have made a deal with South Korea to help carry Russian goods by train to Japan. But then again, had we not been involved in Syria illegally, they would have had peace and been able to rebuild their country.

As for Trump, I don't know if he is fully to blame for our foreign policy or if he is left with no choice, but as a Christian, I know we are going to suffer dearly in the next 4 years because of it - regardless of who is president.

From what I can tell, all our so called dependable friends are dependable only as long as they have something to gain.

Biden's win is a win for the US and our Constitutional, Republic form of Democracy. Getting the liar and chief, Trump out of office was paramount to American freedom and to begin to put white supremacists back in their place.

That's everyone. Countries are like businesses, they have to compete and compete ruthlessly, or their competition will outcompete them and their people will suffer for it. Trump made a great show of being tough but a great show with nothing else isn't what is called for in diplomacy

The thing is Biden and Harris are not Liberals; they are center-left or Democratic Progressives, but not leftists.

Biden isn't anything other than what politically benefits him and Harris breaks the progressive scale.

See Trump et., al the past 4 years. See our ridiculous pulling out of WHO, downsizing our involvement in NATO, and creating unnecessary problems with the EU... and many more examples, are searchable.
