New Mexico governor shuts down grocery stores for two weeks

In the past I never really thought that POTUS ran the States, but after 4 years of listening to liberals here blame Trump for conditions created by State and local government decisions I have learned otherwise. Now I know. Soon Biden will be responsible for everything. Good or bad. He will own it. And that includes owning the Covid Virus he said he would fix.

 

Didn't he inform you that SAMS is open, but has hideous lines? Maybe people can go grocery shopping at Redbox or Ulta, now there's a novel idea.

If you look past the trees, you might see the forest. Nearly every state was called on election night except the swing states that Trump had huge leads in until the midnight ballots came rolling through after everyone was at home asleep minus the ones who told everyone to go home since counting was done. Suddenly that huge lead disappeared. But I'm sure that's all just a coincidence.

 

Maybe Chitcago or whatever can tell us what "Republican Utah" is next.

The founders intended to create a union of states and did so. in the meantime we have allowed federal government to bribe the states into doing its will so there is little doubt that the POTUS really does run the states. The governors have been weak and dependent for a long long time.

It would seem to be a simple legislative matter. Distribution of funding can be made equitable by law, irrespective of compliance with federal directives. Neither side seems eager to address it. I don't know enough to support or oppose the practice. The governors may be weak, or they may be wise or they may just have their backs against the wall.

 

That's just partially true. On one hand the federal government can get democrat states to do away with their sanctuary permissiveness, on the other the government bribed (strong armed) states to comply with putting boys in girl's bathrooms.

Truth: Trump has been trying for months to get Pelosi to get an aid package worth billions out to PEOPLE, not Democrat bureaucracies!

 

I believe it should be illegal for federal government to send national funds to states at all unless they are buying something from the state. It the height of government corruption. That would solve the the problem of distribution of funds and even reduce corruption. The states are taxing authorities themselves. They need to manage money better. It isn't rocket science. Even I can show them how to do it.

 

Common sense. There are plenty of grocery stores in New Mexico. If you're capable of driving your ass to the polls, you are also capable of driving your ass to another store.

 

Federal money has no business going to states. Period.

Nobody in the Biden administration goes maskless. The opposite is true. Nobody crammed anybody into anything, did anything to nursing homes, nor told anyone to visit Chinatown.

No concern for the stores driven out of business during the Covid hysteria?

 

Yes, it's smoke filled room territory alright. It's not that simple, though. The feds are responsible for highway funding, which has been the preferred carrot for decades, but also military bases, prisons, and all the assorted agency satellites spread throughout the nation.

The best we could hope for is separation of funding from compliance with unrelated directives. Several small towns and small cities rely on military bases for a good portion of their economy. We can't completely separate the federal government from the states economically, so deal making is a part of the process we really can't control.

 

You have family dollar stores, one stops and many other similar stores

 

I think Walmart will be fine to close for 2 weeks and that closure will be good news to the smaller shops that are at risk of closing down but will now get some business for a couple of weeks

 

You've already forgotten the post you made about Republican Utah? Biden supporter, eh?
