It is a materially & spiritually cold Thanksgiving.

I even found previous Thanksgiving threads

    Oh the humanity.

If you saw the store shelves, not plentiful.

    Families members apart.

This T'giving has been thoroughly gutted.
Can there be any hope for Christmas joy.

Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,
regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.

    I hate get togethers.

Covid has been a nice relief for me.

I'm jealous. I live in a family of Democrats, so we did not celebrate Thanksgiving today, because of propaganda-fueled paranoia.

    My condolences,

My wife and my position is, we will be dead for a long time and we will not waste one second of our last few holidays without our kids and friends sitting at the dining room table laughing and sharing stories. They called this morning and our daughter is coming early because wants to watch exactly how my wife prepares the meal.
If we get sick, we pledge to fight like we are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and it is starting to rain.
Hey, if it is our last, it was a great ride and we used all the runway.
    Our governor can GFH.

The Democrats have used Covid 19 as a means to seize power. Thanksgiving was just a preview. Across the US Democrat governors have issued dictates on social gatherings and shuttered businesses. New York set up check points to harass and discourage travel over the holiday. California shut off power to 5000 residents.Oregon’s governor wants citizens to snitch on each other. Retail is poised to have it’s worst Black Friday weekend ever. This is authoritarian and a deliberate ploy to tank the economy. In his Thanksgiving address, Biden hinted at something much darker. He said, “More testing. We’ll find people with cases and get them away from one another, slowing the number of infections. More protective gear for businesses and our schools,” Biden said. “The federal government has vast powers to combat the virus, and I commit to you I will use all of those powers to lead a national coordinated response.” What’s chilling is, “We’ll find people with cases and get them away from one another.” Mandatory testing? Cattle cars? He continues, “The federal government has vast powers to combat the virus, and I commit to you I will use all of those powers to lead a national coordinated response.” To overstate another surge? Those on the left will surely dismiss this as paranoia but Biden has frequently unwittingly telegraphed his intentions about a lot of things. It seems a lot of the time he forgets what he is talking about and to whom he is speaking to. He told us he was going to steal the election!!!! I see very bad things happening in America if this man prevails.

Why couldn’t you still celebrate Thanksgiving without your relatives?
Some of my family are Dems but they still came over to my place for Thanksgiving. Guess your relatives happen to be more gullible.

Could you please let us know how many become infected, and/or go on to infect others? Thanks.

Look at that! Something we have in common ... go figure. When they first started urging social distancing, I thought "Finally! Something I'm already good at!"

In all seriousness, the isolation has been beneficial for me this year. My health has been iffy at best, and the solitude allows me to meditate in peace and quiet, making it easier to focus on my health, both physical and emotional.

Realistically, why would a Democrat celebrate the failure of the first documented attempt at socialism in the Americas?!

For a while, we invited friends over for a Bloody Mary Party while our turkey was in the oven. Not only was it alot of work, but we couldn't get people to leave when our turkey was done. We finally settled on sharing a roasted/glazed turkey breast from Honey Baked Ham and our favorite homemade sides with one family member.

    Lol...too bad for you.
I am very thankful this Thanksgiving.
    My family is still healthy.
There are vaccines nearly ready to fight the virus.
We voted out the worst potus in history.
    Things are looking hopeful.

    Lol...Complete bullshit.
Your boy trump would still be potus if he hadn't failed so miserably at leading the country when the pandemic came. He was more concerned about his ratings than his fellow countrymen.
He has only himself to blame for losing.
I'm so glad that his malignant narcissism finally did him in. It was the perfect end to his miserable stint in power.

Well, my mom's diabetic and in her 70's; my father is nearing 80, and them being Democrats and soaking in the fearmongering of CNN 24/7 does not really help things out. I don't think Christmastime will fare any better.
