If it were just a matter of shutdowns I could almost understand the inaction. It is choosing money over life which is a sin but I do imagine myself in the position of having to make such a call and that in doing so the actions might not be entirely malicious. However the no mask mandate part completely obliterates the possibility that Gov MoRon DeathSantis is acting in good faith for the interests of Florida. Masks saves lives. I know many of you do not believe this and your fake news driven ignorance notwithstanding DeathSantis know it as well. He knows it because he has been told by hundreds of Florida doctors, scientists, and researchers, he has been told by dozens of Florida Mayors and hundreds of Florida City Council-members, and the hundreds of doctors, scientists, and researchers behind them. Masks saves lives this is an indisputable fact.

So why no mask mandate? Well because MoRon DeathSantis is the worst sort of far-right Republican trash person. Tapped by Pres Trump and passenger on his 2016 election coat-tails this man of little accomplishment and even lesser intellect is taking a full bore nosedive into the depths of right-wing nutjob anti-masker anti-science anti-morality stupidity. Driven not by a considerations for his state, or by the guidance of faith, MoRon DeathSantis cares only for one thing: that the megadonors which will fund his re-election have a strong quarterly statement and a fat bonus. How does he accomplish this? By sending people back to work, back to school, back to "normal" regardless of cost of human lives. This is a betrayal of everything that Republicans once claimed to honor and they will be made to answer for this in both there here-and-now and in the hereafter.

I know there are many Florida Republicans on this board, having once been as such myself, so let me speak to you on this matter. Enjoy what you are sowing, soon you shall reap it. You may pat yourselves on the back as you turn blind to death and sickness in favor or foolishly worshiping dollars and economies but it will not last. This Governor will face re-election and just as the people removed the anti-masker anti-science anti-intelligence of Pres Trump so too shall MoRon DeathSantis be expelled. I swear to you all that I shall give both substantial time and effort into making this happen and if his replacement is the greatest gun-grabbing, America-hating, cop-defunding, tax-hiking, communist to ever walk this earth then that is who I will work day and night to empower out of spite for you and those like you. THAT will be your penance for tolerating 1 MILLION cases and nearly 20,000 of your brothers and sisters dead.

 

However the stats do not backup what you are claiming, testing is up, cases are as a result of that are as well, yet deaths remain at record lows, way below when masks where required and to a degree.lockdown's where as well.

The numbers simply do not support the fearmongering you have subscribed to and your lack of understating the effectiveness of masks expose's how little you actually understand about them.

But worse that that your totalitarian threats speak volumes about your true intentions, which have way more to do with total control than the health or caring about others.

lockdowns, social distancing and masking up has been down around the world yet the lockdowns 2 dot oh and 3 dot oh are happening. Why might that be? It's because the virus survives. You have masked up folks around other masked up folks and still become infected.

Being infected isn't a death sentence and it's far from it. Your method is to toss the baby out with the bath water as opposed to focusing on the most vulnerable. That is a statist method and given your comments, you like that. That's ok but those who love liberty will never agree th you.

The damage done in terms of economic devastation as well as the sharp spike in mass deaths due to people not getting the care they need for non covid related health conditions FAR...FAR ....FAR outweighs any potential benefit.

Explain the lack of regular seasonal flu deaths and the sharp drop in deaths by everything EXCEPT covid19.

I've been hearing for four years that the character of an elected official is irrelevent.

For the record, masks have been preventing the spread of disease for over 100 years, but, by all means, next time you need your teeth cleaned or a surgery, tell the medical staff not to bother with a mask.

 

You did none of the sort, you complained, demanded and while you claim science, you denyed the facts have proven you to be totally full of it, lock down's didn't work and masks are not working either, so what do you do, you ignore reality, call people names and double down on your foolish demands.

---- you do not need a mask mandate to wear a mask. Wear the damned mask 24 hours a day if it makes you feel safe, shower wearing it for all I care, wear it in your car. Stay in the basement, wear three masks at once, wear a damn hazmat suit for all I care, but we don't need a statewide mask mandate any more than we need more shutdowns.
