It’s nice to see such well reasoned arguments unclouded by emotion presented on this subject. It’s a welcome respite from the run of the mill insults, threats and ad hominem attacks we see here daily. Carry on.

Not sure how you arrived at that conclusion at all but I'm more than happy to talk about it. I think after witnessing America, so called 1st world modern superpower, lead the rest of our peer nations in cases and deaths by huge margins that it wont only be China looking to take advantage of viral transmission as an attack vector. Every single one of our enemies has just been giving a crystal clear roadmap for how to beat us - or should I rather say: how to get us to beat ourselves. If COVID was the metaphorical soft opening proof of concept then our response will undoubtedly green-light something worse. We stood before the world and proudly screamed at the top of our lungs "we will let our people die, we will fight amongst ourselves, we will fail, we are weak". So I agree in a sense, I think the age of biological warfare will return in force.

Yes, bad policy has consequences, getting people killed has consequences, elections have consequences, this is nothing new. But IMO you have it backwards. The response isn't the threat, the thing being responded to is the threat; ie the right's inaction on COVID. And I stand on every word I say. I fully intend to see MoRon DeathSantis voted out of office and will put my money and time to achieving this goal. If people want to 'target' me for this, well, I guess they'll be talking up rank with the likes of ANTIFA and whatnot so tell hell with 'um. Btw I thank you for reading and responding.

no government program can raise the poor to the level of the comfortable. Government can only lower the comfortable to the level of poor

It is a siren song to Democrat voters that bigger govt is the answer

then why lockdown 2 dot oh and 3 dot oh? Why are the folks in other countries now protesting the useless and economic devastating policies put forth by statists? It's because the virus survives and no mask or lockdown will stop it. We need to build immunity just like with every other virus

    OTOH......

The greater the number of casualties of their policies.....the more that will be dependent on government and thus, their power and control.

They are known to do this right up to the point they run out of other peoples money

There is no better example than Venezuela.

wrong, Venezuela is a horrible example ... you might as well have said Zimbabwe/Rhodesia ...

the Chavez and Mugabe platforms are in no way comparable to the Democrat or liberal agenda in this country ... please educate yourself ...

Yes you need to educate yourself, two predominant Florida Democrats just lost the election over their praise of of certain Venezuela's programs instituted by Venezuela's President Nicolás Maduro.

A number of Democrats have strong beliefs the U.S. should be more like what Maduro wanted for Venezuela.

By the way Chavez is long dead and Mugabe is irrelevant to the subject.

which Dems want Maduro's vision for Venezuela? ... and what vision would that be? ...

Venezuela followed Zimbabwe's example to destruction of a healthy economy, albeit with a slight tweak ... what Dem policies to you envision trying to do this on that scale? ...

    What a load of BS.
Lock down are for slowing down the infection rate, so hospital will not have to do Triage, throw the dice who gets an ICU bed.
Herd immunity is a fantasy, requires around 75% infection, which will cost several millions of death.

Vaccination is the only help and it is on the way.

    BS.
Hospitals are full, not because of testing, because of infections.

When do you people on the fringe right quit repeating Bunker Boys false claims ?

Masks, lockdowns are to slow down the spread, not to kill the virus. A vaccine will eventually do in the virus and they are coming.
Its about the hospitals not getting overwhelmed and having to do Triage decisions.

Liberty and freedom, that's all you can bring to the table ?

I call it in a situation as we all are in egoism.
Because it is only about personnel liberties and freedom, the Me, Me crowed of the fringe Right.

This reply from you wasn't needed as it's obvious you like leftist policies where the state should have more control over the people. It is really sad to read posts from folks who think the govt will give free stuff and improve their stock in life.

Nobody has ever claimed that masks and social distancing are a panacea. Hospital administrators are currently having discussions on how to prioritize emergencies. If you kid gets in a car crash, and has to go to the ER, and there's no room because, well, they are full, are you okay with that?

    I'm NOT.

People will die because hospital throughput is limited. There are not an infinite number of doctors, nurses, beds, etc., to care for what is coming in the next couple of weeks. It will be ugly, and we will hear stories about people dying from an exploded appendix because there was literally no room at the inn.

And all you are asked to do is wear a mask and social distance. It's the patriotic thing to do.

The WWII generation would cringe that wearing a mask for your country is too big of an ask. Do you have any idea how much citizens of this great country gave up during that time, in the name of patriotism? Pfft. So many items were rationed out, and people were happy to do it, because patriotism is more important than an extra bag of sugar.

Now we hoard toilet paper and claim that wearing a mask = tyranny.

What a weak bunch of idiots Americans are these days.

Viruses have been around for what?....4 billion years now? they're smarter than most people.

This relatively harmless virus is nothing but a political tool.
The next one is already in the wild no doubt just as it's ALWAYS been.
    You'd lockdown civilization forever. Hogwash.

The term you are not aware of is "FEAR MONGERING"

Tell ya what....stay home, lock yourself down....we'll send you a card when it's over.

IF...Biden gets in and IF he has a 100 day mandate...I guarantee you I will wear a mask FAR less during that 100 days than the last 100.
