We need to get the vaccines into the arms of 300m+ Americans asap. This needs to stop being a political issue, but zero chance of that on both sides

I do not mind if the US and the European take care of themself first. But if you really want to stop the pandemic, the whole world has to make an effort, which means the rich countries have to step in and do their job.

Expedite getting the supply America needs and then try to expedite taking care of the countries needing help

Remember that the whole shutdown, etc thing was also done for the medical community. If you have a gripe, it seems like hospices are joining along with big Pharma in influencing the government.

Ya i dont think this wil affect europe much since the production of all 3 vaccins are here. Oxford was pretty close to remember.

Europe pre ordered just like the us so i think we wil both get it arround the same time regardles tbh. That executive order wont change that

Yes, which will be manufactured and delivered as ordered, over the next few months, at the same time as the doses ordered by other countries will be delivered.

The countries which are the motor of the world, from Asia to Europe to the US and some South American Countries, have to take care of themself firs.
But while they are doing that they have to get things organized for the rest of the world, that's a responsibility we have.
Bunker Boy's order is a joke, can be revoked any time after the 20. of January, just show boating in my eyes.

Exactly, production capacity is naturally limited. Who bought first and amounts, will decide how many will be received.
BioNtech and Pfizer can do 50 millions this year. They had hoped to do 100 millions, but a quality material shortage, does not allow that.
Out of the 50 millions the US will get 10 million this year. From a factory in Belgium. In Germany bioNtech has its own factories, producing for the European demand, they will do over a billion doses in 2021.
Moderna, US company, participated in War Speed, first class vaccine. Problem production capacity, at the present 300 million till end of 2021.
Oxford, screwed up big times in Phase 3, first they had a nasty side effect, 1 case, they got stopped in Phase 3 and second got the dosage wrong for some of the testees. They have to redo parts of Phase 3.
J&J probably in Feb or March
Curevac April or May. That will be the most advanced of the mRNA.

China and Russia, getting them approved in the West, next year, I would not hold my breath.

This is just another stunt by trump the media whore, but now that he's a loser, more and more people are refusing to play his lapdog whenever he pulls some self-serving stunt.

Its pretty much BS. The side effects for bioNtech and Moderna have been rather mild and not lasting more than 2 days.

I wonder how "we" will prioritize access to a vaccine that was developed in Germany and is mass produced in Belgium? Of course, such proclamations always get the MAGA crowd excited. In reality, it seems that the mass production of vaccines through operation warp speed was highly over-exaggerated. Production was hampered by supply shortages, so they say. Or, could it be that the commapnies didn't want to take the risk of REAL mass production of a vaccine with unkown efficacy?

Seems to me we will be getting it from Europe before we could get it from the USA anyway. Australia is very lucky. We have no urgent need for it given we have had almost zero new cases nation-wide for a significant period.

Exactly. The AstraZeneca vaccine will be almost an entirely rest of the world vaccine. It doesn’t require freezing or the infrastructure for delivery the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines do.

Especialy when the main production facility, which comes online in 2021 is financed by Germany.
Germany spent 450 million Dollar, so bioNtech could purchase that facility from a Suisse pharma company, in my home State Hessen.
That happen in the middle of the year. Curevac got the same amount and has a state of the art factory, ready to go.
That is foresight of a Government.
Merkel called those 2 research labs the "silver" ware of Germany, not for sale, never ever and spent 1.5 billion in investments to make sure they would develop a vaccine and have the production capacity.

I would call it "diamond " ware of Germany.
By the way the area bioNtech is located, in Germany, is called the Pharmacy of the World.

That vaccine will take some time, its the Oxford vaccine.
Curevac has a mRNA, which can be stored for long time at fridge temps and can handle the -70 of the other mRNA.
mRNA vaccine have been the only ones, which had no trouble in Phase 3

Pfizer took no development money for their vaccine.
No price has been set on second batch.
