There were riots when they were convenient to the Democrats.

Now there are no riots, just some squatters in Portland :)

Relax, Dems assured us that Russia is good friends with Trump. On a serious note, do we really want Trump making statements on the issue?

    Good point.

Nobody really wants Trump "making statements" on ANY issue.

Being subjected to Trump's Brain Diarrhea is nauseating.

Trump can’t condemn this until Russia finishes processing his asylum request

You're probably right. Why should he start acting presidential, at this point? He can go out the way he came in, worried about how many devotees he has.

Wow, the complete abandonment of rational thinking is stunning. The system was hacked by phishing, basically getting someone to give up their sign on unwittingly. A serious problem for any organization.

Also there is no agreement on Russia being involved.

Unfortunately Obama could only do so much during his few months in office, but it was still greater in magnitude than anything Trump has done in the last 4 years. Obama telling Russi to knock it off alone is still more than anything Trump has done and will ever do. Case closed.

I didn't see in there where they claimed this a phishing attack ? Do you have a source ?

What has he, Biden, said he will do and Trump did make it a priority and has the head of the election cybersecurity said it was the most secure election we have had. Yes we only have one President at a time but does that one President only do one thing at a time? As has been noted CISA has already issued the emergency directives, now the investigation will continue and probably take weeks if not months before they can go before Congress with recommendations. What else is to be done by a President and be specific if this is going to be your argument.

I realize many still have unpleasant emotions when discussing Trump. I don't believe saber rattling is a wise response to a cyber attack. The response should involve strengthening the weaknesses they found and aggressively looking for weaknesses on their end. That is my humble, unemotional opinion.

GOOD governance is unexciting by definition. More people survive it though.

The administration has made several comments about it and is taking steps already and it will take further investigation to find out the how's and now what do we do.

In the meantime Trump like all Presidents will be tidying up some final matters as he leaves office. Prehaps he should concentrate more on spying on the Biden transition team and sending FBI agents to interrogate members of that team and his family as Obama did against the incoming President.

Yes we do, I certainly do !!!

These official statements are used for diplomatic purposes. No doubt Russia has attacked other nations this way, and as such helps strengthen the diplomatic bonds with our alies.

This hack is a big deal. Over 40 government agencies were infiltrated since March, yet people want to turn a blind eye because their dear leader is in charge. What will Trump do? Probably give Putin a pardon to stop the witchhunt.

The fact that it was a cyber attack is incidental, it is an attack be and is now recognized, hence the language. Doing and saying nothing is not an option after being attacked.

Assurances by the POTUS that he is aware of the situation and that we will do everything we can to make sure that this attack is thwarted and that those enemies will pay for what they did at the time and way of our choosing.

If the Russians landed an invasion force in Boston Harbor? Would Trump respond or would he say that is for the governor of MA to deal with? Even Charleston Harbor wouldn't get help because is more loyal to Putin than to his caddy Lindsey. I see that the Trump National Security transition team has decided to take a holiday break Biden's team said come on man get real.

Sure apparently the hack was hidden is a system update but that does not absolve Russia. Look at those entities who claimed that Russia was not involved in our election interference how wrong they where.

It's cute how Russia became the darlings of the Trump World.

If there still is some honest and intelligent person left in his administration( one who has been been fired or forced to resign yet)would write a coherent statement of encouragement that Donnie could read verbatim then yes I would have him to make that statement.
