    I understand the preference of political policies, but you need to separate the person from the policies

    So, If I lie to all of my neighbors - point to a house and say that there are pedophilies in there raping your kids, then they break into the house and get violent, it is not my fault as I never told them to break in.

    Trump has lied repeatedly for months about election fraud. Riled up the conned; had a rally that he said would be "wild". His actions led to this; even a # republicans and his staff called him out for what he did. Then while it is going on, he does nothing but continue to tweet out election fraud lies and attacking those who would not support his coup. VP Pence was the one coordinating with the National Guard. Trump did nothing

    Is that what you got from the post? Laughable. Big government doesn't need to do anything. Folks choosing to not use twitter is a choice made by them, not for them. As the leftist bandwagoneer here these days, I understand how it might not make sense to you that folks can make choices for themselves. No "big government authoritarianism" required.     That is open for debate and is not settled law, IMO. When those platforms become essential tools of public discourse then the argument that an owner can silence dissenting opinions that are clearly NOT incitement or threats, gets pretty shaky. Section 230 needs revision to equal the "playing field". These Data Oligarchs are clearly using those platforms to silence dissent and to generate support for their causes only. That sounds a lot like being a publisher and if they insist on that level of control then they need to be treated as publishers.
    To avoid it, all they have to do is STOP censoring political speech.
    Thankfully, their arrogance has alienated enough of the market to make other platforms profitable. It's true that these newbies don't have nearly the quantity or quality of content available but the train done left the station and Zuck and Dorsey can't do anything to stop it.

    Removing section 230 protection would end free sites like political forum and force those that stayed to pre-censor every post before it appears on the thread and ban them on the side of caution

    Removing section 230 protection, would make twitter legally liable for ever word Trump said on their site
