Camps? The Feds offered help getting more people vaccinated in pharmacies. This guy turned out to be a big disappointment in Florida. He started off good, but then became a mini-Trump, trying to mimic Trump at every turn, and even now he says NO to help getting his citizens vaccinated because..........well, just because he in is position to say NO.

Good example of "disagreeing just for the sake of disagreeing". I see him as a 1-term Gov here in Florida.

Florida’s Governor doesn’t want help from the feds.
Gov. Ron DeSantis is pooh-poohing President-elect Joe Biden‘s plan to tap FEMA to bring vaccines to local pharmacies.

During a stop in Cape Coral to unveil more state partnerships with Publix pharmacies, the Governor decried the incoming Biden administration’s plans to involve the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Guard to hasten the vaccine rollout. “FEMA camps,” DeSantis said, would add unnecessary layers of bureaucracy.

“I can tell you, that’s not necessary in Florida. All we need is more vaccine,” he stressed.

Florida has room to grow in its vaccine rollout, the Governor said. Daily vaccinations peaked at more than 84,000 Wednesday, but access to more doses has been the state’s bottleneck, DeSantis said. Florida vaccinated more than 400,000 people last week, but only once has the state received more than 300,000 doses in a week.

 

I strongly support DeSantis for the way he has handled this Plandemic.

Good news that he's cut to the chase with the imposter Biden.

I won't be taking the vaccine at all.

 

You can do whatever the heck you want, but many citizens down here do want the vaccine and wonder why DeSantis has chosen to stand in the way just for the sake of standing in the way

 

I know 2 people who've taken it here in FL. One was forced to because she works in healthcare, and the other happily volunteered.

DeSantis is not standing in the way of anybody getting the vaccine. He certainly did not prevent my friends from taking it.

You're being typically dramatic because you don't like DeSantis.

They want to expand the vaccination efforts in FL and DeSantis says "“I can tell you, that’s not necessary in Florida". So, he is very much standing in the way. Why? Because he says so.

 

Or, because he has a working knowledge of medicine and vaccine, and knows that the vaccines were approved for emergency use only, and therefore are mostly untested.

Either way, he is not impeding or restricting access to the vaccine as you suggest so dramatically.

As long as you're into fantasy, maybe the OB-GYN doctor from Miami Beach who died 2 weeks after taking it was a friend of his? They are about the same age.

He is talking about "FEMA Camps", which it absurd. Obviously he is standing in the way because fears he'd look like a fool for not thinking about these obvious measures himself.

Anyway, its improvement from 2009 when the GOP insisted there is going to be Obama/FEMA concentration and re-education camps for conservatives. There was also supposed to be a muslim takeover, communism, hyper inflation, food riots, depression, gun confiscations and many other things which never took place.

No one will force you to take it. The problem is that those who WANT IT, can't get it, and DeSantis has chosen to keep it that way.

We liked a lot of what DeSantis was doing, but he's gone all in on the cult.

 

You say that he wants no help getting his citizens vaccinated, yet you quote from him where he says "all we need is more vaccine". What you say and what he said seems to conflict. Seems to me that he believes he doesn't need FEMA or the NG to help as getting out the vaccine is no problem. It's just the lack of availability of the vaccine that's holding up the distribution.

So, what exactly is your problem here? If a state can handle the distribution on its own just fine then why add more bureaucracy to it? That just slows things down. We all know that. Besides those resources could be used for states that are having problems with the distribution. So why waste them on a state that can handle it on its own?

 

GOOD! The Federal Government bureaucracy is pathetic. Private companies are stepping up to deliver vaccines. They will do a better job. Biden is a pathetic man with no brains left. Signing an executive order that overrides Title IX and kicks girls out of their sports by allowing boys to play in girl sports. Idiot! Then he cuts off 840,000,000 barrels of oil a day from Canada throwing 11,000 people out of jobs for a start. This will make us oil dependent to OPEC again driving up gasoline to $10 a gallon. And, those countries making peace will stop doing that. More war in the Middle East, not less. Makes China and Russia happy as well. He's in their pockets!!! The Biden Mafia cartel.

What is the problem? The problem is that DeSantis is FAILING to get the vaccines to those who need them, and at the same time he stands in the way when others try to get it to them. There are clinics and pharmacies who have cancelled all appointments because they are not getting the vaccines. I dont know anyone down here who has been able to get a vaccine, and they have spend lot of time trying.

please stop the talking points. FL is doing fine with the vaccine and you can't perform a double-dose vaccine on all residents with a vaccine that requires special handling. The fed will simply screw it up like they always do. If the J+J vaccine comes out soon, then it would be easier for pharmacies to handle/store/distribute.

A little education instead of tiresome Democrat talking points might serve you well. Be part of the solution and try and understand instead of being a Democrat whiner
