Biden's call for unity is an absolute joke, unless he takes action. Does he have the balls to tell Pelosi and Schumer to call off their illegal dog and pony show of impeachment? Impeachment is for a sitting President. Trump is no longer a sitting president, and is a private citizen. Show me in the Constitution where congress can impeach a private citizen.

 

Only if you show us where they can't impeach the President, before his term ends, for crimes he committed while in the White House.

 

He is no longer president. If they try, it just becomes a hate filled dog and pony show. And it totally goes against Biden's call for unity. If they follow thru, it will only further divide the nation.

 

He doesn't get off that easy.

 

If they don't try him that will be a precedent set for all time that the President can blow up the White House during his last days in office and that would be perfectly o.k. Good god man, get a life.

 

Whether Trump deserves it or not, he is no longer president and will never be president again. The impeachment destroys any chance of unity.

Just answer on very simple question. Which is more important? That Trump be punished or unity? Both are not going to happen.

 

You're under the mistaken impression that Biden CAN call off a Congressional impeachment proceeding.

The Constitution gives Congress the SOLE power over the impeachment proceeding. THEY decide the parameters and
if THEY decide that an impeachment proceeding that was instigated prior to a person leaving office can
be completed, then that IS Constitutional. And there is precedent - 1875, the Secretary of War was impeached and
resigned before the case was heard in the Senate - the Senate went on to hear the case even though he was out of office.

 

I don’t want unity. I just want the idiots to stop with the accusations of one being a bigot, sexist, racist or a supporter of white supremacy because you disagree with a liberal.

Unity as defined by the left means that there is no opposition to their ideas. I don’t want that type of unity. That’s contrary to the principles the country was founded upon.

The country wasn’t founded upon the concept of unity. It was founded upon civil debate and disagreement.

No one is asking for unity of ideas. We're asking for unity in achieving goals. Think of it as your workplace. Your opinion of the CEO is irrelevant to the task at hand. Do your job, and the guy with opposing views of the CEO will help you.

 

Impeachment is to disbar Trump from running again, and to hold him accountable. Removal from office is only one aspect of impeachment.
