    Hear me out.
If he is able to run again, he probably will and it will probably split republican votes. its that simple!
I'm not looking at whats FAIR here. Fairness was tossed out the window along with a CHEATED election. Time to move on from that and look to the long term. Although I don't think someone telling people to PEACEFULLY protest can be impeached for that, democrats have proven they are above the law and this is one instance where it might work out in the long run for Republicans. Also he isn't even the President anymore so I'm not sure how these fools think they can impeach a citizen, but I hope they do, for long term reasons, nothing against Trump. He was an amazing president!

Historians have placed trump below Buchannan. Its now factual and can NEVER be disputed that trump was the worst we ever had.

    Two things:

    1. It is not illegal to proceed with the Senate's punitive part of the process. The one Article of Impeachment was accomplished while Trump was still president, and there is precident for it, on the cabinet level. Google William Belknap. The fact is, the constitution is vague about it.

    2. Trump must be held accountable. I know that he has no understanding of the word, but I hope that at least some of his supporters do.

The Senate holds the trial. He's not been found guilty, yet. He's been impeached, which is the equivalent of being charged with a crime.

He won't run again and the only thing a guilty verdict by the senate would do is really piss his supporters off more. That would damage the GOP for a generation, especially if rumors of him starting a "Patriot Party" are true.

You sure are singing a lot of praise for the Democratic party. You're giving them a lot of credit for pulling off what would be an impossible feat. Think about it for a moment. Think of the organization required to put a group together that was capable of overthrowing an election. The committees needed to discuss and decide on what method to use. The stumbling blocks that have to be eliminated (members in key positions held by the other party whose cooperation we need). Organize and co=ordinate 50 different state governments and their people and pull it off without one person coming forward and providing testimony/evidence of the collusion. Yeah, it's easy to lip-synch your golden idol but take a second or two and think how impossible it would be to 'rig' and election which was controlled by 50 different state governments.

I feel for you, bro, but clinging to trump's lies is unhealthy.
Everybody is dumping trump now that they finally see he that was always a malignant narcissist and never gave a damn about America.
    Let's hope the rejection continues.

One could also wonder how history will look at roughly 500 children taken from their parents with improper records being kept so they couldn't be returned to their parents but we're not. We're talking about the man who had the lowest popularity rating of any President.

I would hope that nobody would take the word of Jimmy Kimmel as the truth on anything, nor a described author of the 'definitive book' of the subject.

How did you know at the time they were separated that they were with thier biological parents?

Obama separated kids too. If you go to jail your kids don't come with you do they?

    Trump did nothing wrong.

I don't believe the election was stolen, but I do believe both sides cheat as much as they can and that needs to be addressed. The margin in which Biden won IMO is far greater than could be accomplished by cheating though, there's just simply more D's than R's. It is about turnout for the left, always has been. If they get turnout, mathematically they win. That is why their entire strategy is revolved around lies like voter suppression and racism. Turns out the MSM telling minorities that Republicans are racist are responsible for everything bad in the country gets people riled up and ready to vote!

Also, I have no problem with a politician, or anybody else claiming the election was stolen. Both sides do it every single time, and the constitution does not say we have to tell the truth about results or conceded an election. If this is grounds for impeachment, then every single person who does not call out Stacy Abrams needs to resign. Trump definitely fanned the flames with his ignorance, but he did not have any part in what the insurrectionists decided to do of their own free will. I do not see grounds for impeachment.

I say all that to say simply, Please find Trump guilty and bar him from running! That is the very best way to unite the right for 2022 and 2024! Trump being removed from the political arena allows the GOP to unify and move on from the cancer of Trumpism. If he runs again, and we all know the moron will, the GOP will remain split.

What will split the party would be impeachment... millions will flee the republican party... and who knows if they will be back for 2024. Trump, let’s not forget, got 74 million votes. Not only did he get most votes of any republican in history, he got more blacks and latinos than any republican in 50 years. Impeaching him may destroy the party and may take two election cycles to repair.

You are right - it would probably be better to be impeached rather than face a court on a charge of sedition because a good case cane be made for not just charging him with that but finding him guilty

Actually, Trump was the trigger that shown the Democrat party at the lowest point ever, to be honest.. I mean when people are willing to elect a brain damaged, senile halfwit that has no record of doing anything but ride the peoples coattails for half a century, well ya.. That's some pretty sad decision making there! But to the Left defense, don't beat yourselves up to bad, the DNC masters chose him and then underhandedly made him your ward for four years...

Be sure and change his diapers from time to time!!

The Constitution gives the Senate the power to confirm or bar appointed officials. It is the Electorate that determines who will serve as elected officials. We all knew that when Dems realized that they could no longer win elections that they would launch a full assault on our election systems.

You mount an argument for going along with that, but, this is foundational to our Constitutional Liberal Democracy, so, no, I do not agree with this utilitarian argument, but, unlike our Totalitarians, I fully support your right to think it and shout it loudly!

I not think so, we all know who's to blame.. At this point we lost the houses, so maybe we can slaughter off the majority of the old career bastard and get new blood in there that are will to expose Washington for what they really are..

From the day Trump was elected he was doomed on all sides! You could see it on their faces that this nonplayer was never going to go far.. NOW, it's back to the status quo, Dems and Repugs stroke'n one another off stuffing their pockets WITHOUT having to worry about a snitch ratting them off to the voters via BIGMOUTH and twitter..
