    It looks like @Lee Atwater is prepping for the huge influx of negative threads regarding China Joe's economic policies by trying to diss Trump economy (while pretending covid didn't exist during it)
    Nice try but I'm pretty sure we can all see through the nonsense here

    SAD!

    Not really.

    It's just an empirical look at the numbers.
    If one takes the Orange dude's numbers purely as a set of economic numbers and compares them to past Presidents, the
    Orange dude didn't have a very good term in office (and no, you don't get ignore 2020 just because it's inconvenient to
    your narrative). Obama had a very lack-luster time in office with a 1.6% gain in GDP ... but that's good compared to
    The Orange One, who is leaving office with a 0.4% GDP average.

    Trump failed because he's incompetent. You fail because you're a conclusion in search of premises.

    How many results from other countries do you have to see?

    and YOU don't get to ignore 2020 and its effect on the economy because it doesn't fit YOUR narrative
    You see how that works?
    GOOD!

    Trump's Tariffs Failed to Fix the Trade Deficit

    Note: Both Goods and SERVICES according to the Bloomberg article

    Note: SERVICES include Tourism/International travelling to the U.S.

    Note: In 2017, international Travelers spent $251.4 billion in the U.S.

    https://uk.usembassy.gov/international-visitors-to-u-s-on-the-rise-infographic/

    Thus, wondering if Covid19 travelling restrictions, to and from, have negatively affected our trade in services?

    Dude - we include 2020 in the economic stats - how would that be "ignoring" the impact of 2020 on the economy?
    You not be making sense.

    The Chinese who spent three months lying about it where it came from, and how serious it was while making sure almost every country in the world got their share.

    That does not change the fact that the democrats did not help.

    By the way. I have mentioned that Chuck Schumer supported Trump in this effort. Does that mean he is also dumb? Enquiring mind want to know.

    Are you disputing what I wrote?
    You're explaining this to an economist? Really?
    This is relevant to what?
    As I said, when the virus is circulating, a lot of people avoid going out and spending money. Forcing desperate people to go to work doesn't make them go shopping.

    Yes. You are comparing a country nearly ten times larger than the other living in the same space.
    Do I have to explain that to an economist? Really. To keep the economy open, it requires both manufacturing and retail.
    Most of us still have to eat and live. That requires both manufacturing and sales. I eat. My clothes wear out. My cars still need repairs. I have to keep numerous doctor's appointments. I have tried cutting back a bit on the doctors at some risk.

    90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the USA-Canada border. Does that even register on you?

    Canada is as urbanized as this country. You can't reasonably claim greater population density is causing our problems. They're like flies gathered on a window.

    In reference to Trump's tariffs, there is one hypocrisy;

    Fact; In the Treasury Monthly Statement, Tariffs on imported goods are listed as ''Custom duties''

    From Oct 1st, 2017 to Sep 30th, 2019, Trump increased custom duties from $35 billion to $71 billion, thus, an additional $36 billion in revenues. However, same time period, Trump's farmer bailouts have amounted to approx. $30 billion.

    https://www.fiscal.treasury.gov/files/reports-statements/mts/mts0917.pdf
    https://www.fiscal.treasury.gov/files/reports-statements/mts/mts0919.pdf

    Here's the hypocrisy;

    FY2018 Receipts; $3.329 trillion
    FY2019 Receipts; $3.462 trillion
    Revenue growth rate; 4%

    But wait a minute, Trump increased custom duties by $36 billion, and his farmer's bailouts have increased Uncle Sam's expenditures, thus, said $36 billion in additional revenues should be excluded from his FY2018 and FY2019 receipts.

    Let's recalculate Trump's revenue growth rates;

    FY2016 Receipts; $3.267 trillion

    + 1.5%

    FY2017 Receipts; $3.315 trillion

    +0.3%

    FY2018 Receipts; $3.329 trillion minus $6 billion in additional custom duties = $3.323 trillion

    + 3.1%

    FY2019 Receipts; $3.462 Trillion minus $36 billion in additional custome duties = $3.426 trillion

    And MAGA!......U.S. History WORST good economic time's Revenue Growth Rates

    NOTE: In reference to; "We had record revenues''.......I'm not done ridiculing many believers. In this forum, those who've insulted my intelligence will deeply regret, and I know who they are.

    That is a population of about four hundred people per square mile in that one hundred mile strip. Not really very urban. New York City has a population density of over two hundred times that amount. I have spent a fair amount of time in Canada, mostly Halifax. There is simply no comparison to the US.

    Support him. Say it is a good idea. Indicate that the next administration will keep on going with the tariffs.
    Why would he be dishonest because he knew Trump would fail Does that mean he wanted Trump to continue on when it hurt us in the long run?

    Then again, some folks would praise and promote say XI of the chiners before they'd ever claim something good about any American leader other then a Democrat..

    All together now "All hail XI"
