They build pipelines because they are needed, and will be profitable. That profit may indeed come from jobs lost, but in this case, it would be Canadian jobs trucking that oil to export facilities where it likely would end up going to China, and other countries that aren't exactly our friends. It is not the President of the United State's job to care about Canadian jobs, or supplying oil to our enemies.

It is in the US' best interest for that pipeline to be built, as evidenced by the fact that it WAS being built, until Biden killed it. But he did so for all the wrong reasons.
