    He is right.

The push for green initiatives and regulation of power systems that don't align with the lefts environmental policies have created an environment where our power grid is unable to provide the supply for the demand in certain situations.

When ones political agenda trumps logic and creates more problems, that's an issue.

Are we seriously going to ignore the policies that have created power infrastructure problems? Or is the perspective of some of the forum members to tell people "sorry 'bout your power, but get over it" or worse call a politician out for calling it like it is?

Because she is a ****ing moron. A young woman who obtained a degree from a liberal arts university and was tending bar before becoming the mouthpiece for the progressive left. She has zero real world experience and has lived a life where she has contributed nothing, but has all of the answers for social challenges. **** like the Green New Deal that is just idiotic

LoL.... it certainly is ringing endorsement for renewable energy isn't it. It they hadn't chained themselves to windmills for power, this would have never happened. This is Californication in action.

FUN FACT: The man who had done more for green energy than the next 9 people combined (Elon Musk) just left California and is being persecuted by Biden's federal government.

Their primary issue today is that they cannot import power from less affected states. I am not a fan of wind for ecological reasons, but people should be honest about the limitations of green energy. Very few democrats are.

California pays far more into the federal coffers than they receive in federal funding. Their excess goes to states like Mississippi and Alabama, two of the mostly red states that receive more in federal funding than they pay in.

No one, in California or anywhere else, is trying to "force the rest of America into at the point of the federal gun." That's right wing hyperbole. It has nothing to do with my opinion that Ted Cruz is a giant turd.

Note Texas also has significant proportions if it's grid linked to wind and solar. Guess what windmills freeze up and solar panels don't work under a foot of snow. But I'm sure Ted thanks you for helping to make his point.

Which merely points out that your willing to sacrifice people for a failed idea. Please note the same rolling blackouts occurred for pretty much the same reason in CA last summer. You can't have 25 40 percent of your power grid based on sources such that when things get tough they take a hike.

Failed idea? The free market is wrong? All these companies just don't know what they're doing?

I think I'll trust them over hyper partisan denial.

Those companies are doing it because they are being largely paid by the government to do so.

Texas is a victim of Federal Government Green Energy.

The Federal Government under Barack Obama shot down South Texas Projects Unit 3&4 nuclear units which would have helped avert this crisis. You are talking from a place of propaganda, not education on the subject.

they had plenty at the Superbowl after Katrina, forest fires happen with some frequency and if your house isn't burned down by it or the substation doesn't get fried you won't even notice a power interuption. No state that hadn't wasted money on wind power is having an issue with rolling blackouts. Note there are a lot of fairly common weather conditions that can play hob with wind mills too much or too little wind and they don't function. Not to mention which those big carbon fiber blades aren't biodegradable at all.

    Yeah, but not anybody else...
And the lines are what gets impacted the most during bad weather. Those solar pannels and wind turbine will be up and running as soon as the weather clears, but thos lines can take weeks to rebuild and that with everybody pitching in to do the work. My company sends linemen as far down as florida from Quebec every years to help rebuild those lines after huricanes.

California's power problems are well known and self caused, they have done their very best to block any local generation of power citing pollution, they rely on mostly hydroelectric power brought in from out of state but since they contribute little to the national grid they are not in a good position to demand lower rates, they have forced PG&E to install insulated distribution conductors which must be oversized to carry the rated amperage versus bare conductors, they require PG&E to disconnect large areas of service to prevent downed conductors from starting fires and they have allowed PG&E to be held liable for fire damaged allegedly caused by downed conductors.

The result is PG&E will cut any ones power for as long as the company feels is necessary in the name of safety.
