Yes, the Catholics take the "we" references to mean the trinity. The Mormons believe there are many Christs and you too can have your own planet if you're good.
That can be attributed to the KJ language. Even when the Queen of England refers to her authoritarian position she often uses the phrase “We, the Queen . . . .” She’s not saying there is multiple personalities in regards to herself but rather the authority of her position. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_we
The queens "we" originally referred to God and I, because they believed she [actually the kings] was acting under the authority of god. The pope did the same thing.
Whether he was sinless or not is not germane to the resurrection doctrine that is the basis of Christianity. The religion is based on resurrection, not the absence of sin.
No, it is based on being the savior to the world. Being sinless was required. Resurrecting was also required.
Since the topic is miscellaneous thoughts about an imaginary god the OP introduced the crucifixion and resurrection myth I have some questions. How come after Jesus rose and still had gaping wounds in his hands and feet was he still able to walk around? Obviously they were NOT causing him any pain which implies that he never felt any pain when he was being crucified in the first place. That NEGATES the OP's pain and suffering allegations. The second question is about what is MISSING from the resurrection. The Pharisees and the Romans wanted Jesus DEAD which is why they crucified him. 3 days later is wandering around chatting to his buddies out in the open and EVERYONE is hearing about it. So WHY didn't the Pharisees and the Romans go and arrest Jesus again and make sure that they did it right this time? Why is there NO MENTION of their reaction to a convicted CRIMINAL walking around scott free? Hasn't Jesus just made a MOCKERY of their rule of law and order? Wouldn't their immediate reaction on hearing the news be to follow up and find out what went wrong with the crucifixion?
1 verse out of 10,000 of thousands is what you think the entire religion is based on? Have you read any verses about sinless? Now, I also think there is NO reference in the entire bible to Jesus being god. No where. Just a son of god. And there are many sons of god. Even though the bible never calls Jesus -God. Many religions believe that to be true. Right or wrong. It is their belief. And I think it's most of the Christian religions that do so. Are they wrong? According to the bible, likely.
No, that isn't my belief. You said he couldn't die because he was conceived by God. I said his Mom was mortal. So he could suffer all things including death. Sin is when you do something you know is wrong, no matter how large or small a wrong it is. That's what one repents of before one is baptized. There may be more to it or differing beliefs about it. But that's my understanding.
I didn't say anything about jesus dying or not dying. That must have been another. As I was taught. Sin is thought, word, and deed. So, no, it's not something one know's is wrong. Thoughts come and go. Some good, some not. Most today are baptized within 60 days of birth. So, there's no repenting before baptism.
Maybe you can take a few minutes and read 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verses 1-58, https://classic.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1corinthians15:1-58&version=ERV;CEB;CEV;TLB;TPT It is all about the zombies.
It is stupid to baptize babies because the Bible doesn't say anything about kids going to the golden cube. But you can do a baptism for your ancestor who lived 500 years ago.
I don't take Saul/Paul the persecutor of Christians, to be an authority on Christianity or Jesus. He is likely a disciple of Satan. A sheep in wolf clothing.
While that may be very true, Paul is the one who started the Christian religion and developed most of its rituals and doctrines.
Maybe someone else did it . 1 Corinthians 15:29 (ERV) = 29 If no one will ever be raised from death, then what will the people do who are baptized for those who have died? If the dead are never raised, then why are people baptized for them? edit typo
Baptism or any religious ordinance must be by choice to be of effect. And a baby cannot choose, nor do they that which is imposed on them. Imo they are too young to conceive between sin and righteousness so as to repent, be baptized, and then to be reborn. Even Jesus said, suffer the little children to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven. It is when we leave childhood that we are prone to venture into sin and corruption. But I respect your belief to the contrary.
