Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon believed Donald Trump had dementia, and considered a covert plan to remove the president through the 25th Amendment, according to a new book from former 60 Minutes producer Ira Rosen.

“Bannon realised that Trump was repeating the same stories over and over again,” Mr Rosen told Yahoo News’s Michael Isikoff in a podcast released on Tuesday. “There was a David Brooks column that had been written in the New York Times, that said Republican Senators went to see Trump in the White House, and they were hearing him repeat himself, and they realised he may be suffering from early stage dementia.

“Bannon kept saying this, and he wanted to do something about it.”

In the book, Ticking Clock: Behind the Scenes at “60 Minutes,” Mr Rosen writes he has text messages that prove Mr Bannon was seeking to remove the president, including one that read, “You need to do the 25th amendment piece. By the way brother I never steer you wrong.”

If Trump had known this before giving up his seat, Bannon would never have received a pardon for defrauding Republican donors.

Of course, Bannon will deny that he ever considered using the 25th Amendment to remove Trump, but this is another story about how toxic that administration was to the country.

    Thoughts ?

I suspected it but he was so ineffective as is I didn't see a reason not to vote for him over Joe who also was exhibiting dementia symptoms. Joe has a hateful, unpredictable ego. Trump just obsessed about things that had nothing to do with me so he was the lesser evil as I would rather have a proven do-nothing president than an egomaniacal lunatic who could do unforeseeable things at the helm.

Well, if Trump truly believes "he won the election in a landslide" and that "it was stolen from him" then Bannon might be on to something, lol. Believing in total nonsense just might be an indicator all pistons aren't firing between the ears.....

Chances are Dirty Donald has inherited Alzheimer's from his father who had it before he died. And in the words of William T Kelley Dirty Donalds marketing professor at the Wharton school, " Donald J. Trump was the ******ned worst student I had while teaching". "He came to Wharton thinking he already knew everything."

The question is why would anyone be surprised? Anyone who knows what they're talking about has claimed trump has been mentally unstable.

it's looking now like Alzheimer could be from a high carb diet and maybe a combo of processed vegetable oils, which some think make people not able to handle insulin properly in the brain

fast food like french fries, ect... could do it - Trump's diet of choice

fryer food used to be cooked in lard, now it's heavily processed vegetable seed oil

some now are calling it type III diabetes

    https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/researchers-link-alzheimers-gene-to-type-iii-diabetes/

"Type 3 diabetes occurs when neurons in the brain become unable to respond to insulin, which is essential for basic tasks, including memory and learning. Some researchers believe insulin deficiency is central to the cognitive decline of Alzheimer's disease."

Hard to hate a confident man who boasted about passing a dementia test! I mean counting back from 100 is very hard!

    Dementia?

You seriously want to go there? Seriously?

You should probably put the "D word" on the verboten list given who you've got wandering around the White House with his pants on his head now.

While some teachers/professors are into what they do because they care about people, I have seen way too many that have a bitterness about them when they see students go on to success and that bitterness grows deep within their soul because they didn't go beyond teaching. For me, I think teaching is a noble profession, but some just aren't meant to do that for life. The noble ones don't whine about their former students and they don't take credit for their former students.
