I'm seeing a lot of results in my internet searches about Trump supposedly announcing a 2024 run (at CPAC 2021).
I am really hoping this doesn't happen (even though I'm pro-Trump)
Is everyone forgetting the magic 3 words: ONE TERM PRESIDENT ?
I hope he just gives a humble and positive speech and announces he is NOT running.
I just don't see this going well personally. Thoughts? Opinions?

He needs to say thanks for the privilege of serving the country and return to private life.

Four years is a long way off. If the GOP runs a candidate like a Ben Sasse I see better odds taking the WH.

    IMO

I also have a fear that most of them won't be wearing masks at CPAC and give the left even more ammo

There's a slight chance he announces he's not running. There is no chance he'll be humble.

I said from the time someone posted he was going to CPAC to make the case it's still his party that his only real interest is to use his celebrity to raise money for the various legal defenses he will be involved in. It's exactly what professional conmen do.

I think Republicans would be better off with a likable, charismatic candidate.

What do you make of Repub's continued devotion to a corrupt, self-serving buffoon?

They are convinced to ignore corruption by their own party and view the opposition as their enemies. That makes them useful. No different than Democrats.

Hmmm...Taft conservatives seem to have been replaced by wrestling coaches. I doubt they'll be compatible. I foresee a party split, with Democratic dominance for at least a generation.

I think you are right, unless the dominant left pushes their luck on gun control and putting people out of business.

His failure to pardon Assange has turned me off to the idea of him being in office. I would of course still vote for him over a known globalist shill, but I think we all need to focus more on local elections like county Sheriff and State Attorney General so we can make our elections secure again.

I think the Second Amendment is probably also safe for a generation. Paradoxically, the people who may be responsible for its eventual demise are the far right radicals. I think it will require a Constitutional amendment and there is simply not that much support for it. Now, that could change, if they start showing up at the Capitol with guns. "Putting people out of business," would have to be better defined. But, again, I think small businesses will probably be around for several generations longer. Economies of scale are, IMO, going to become increasingly important demanding a re-evaluation of the value of labor.

Sorry Sasse has burned too many bridges and represents an increasingly small minority within the party. If not Trump it will be either Trump Jr., Ted Cruz, or the Florida governor.

I wish you were correct, but living under Democrat dominance in CA, there is already an example of what Dems do to to the second amendment when they can.

CA is also an example of businesses fleeing to more tax friendly states. Where do they go when these abusive policies go national?

$15 min wage is old news in L.A. Many businesses closed down before covid. Restaurants were hit especially hard and many have had to close. Those remaining open increased their prices as well as the workload on each employee. Before covid, service was slow and servers having a hard time keeping up.

The 2 parking attendants in my office building have been replace with pay machines. Fast food cashiers have been replaced with touch screens. Grocery stores are closing while Amazon Fresh stores are thriving without cashiers.

When the damage Democrats are known for reaches the tipping point, the pendulum will swing and the other party can do the damage they are known for.

Nah. You're blind to what those Democrats would DO with that power. Like mafiosa everywhere, they'd be greedy and corrupt. Bless their tyrannical little hearts, they just won't be able to restrain their egos and hunger for power.

Are you really trying to say ONLY one side ignores corruption? The left wing media is currently IGNORING the crap out of the Cuomo stuff. You take "rules for me but not for thee" to the next level.

I gotta ask - do you think the average female voter wakes up in the morning and says to herself, "Gosh, I hope the government
doesn't stop my husband from spending $1,200 on that AK-47 today, he really needs 2 of them, and Jimmy won't be going
to college for a few more years ...".

One who rebleats their parties talking points is not in a position to criticize originality or honesty. Are you taking the position that Rs are corrupt and Ds are not?

Well, trump is a malignant narcissist with a sadistic streak, so don’t expect him to put the country or the repub party before himself anytime soon.
