This is fabulous! The Socialists/Marxists/Communists in America have organized a week-long strike against Amazon purchases, intended to benefit Amazon's Alabama warehouse workers.

A lot of conservatives have "unofficially" boycotted Amazon since the company refused web hosting to Parler, a right-wing free speech online social media site. That is in addition to longer-running conservative boycotts of Amazon because Bezos owns the now ultra-biased left-wing tabloid, The Washington Post.

I keep seeing a lot of crossover between the left-wing populists and America First freedom loving populists in today's politics, while the RINO/DINO oligarchy continues to partner with and support total corporate-capitalist-monopolies and political domination through public-private agreements between The Elites.

Amazon, one of the most "progressive" companies supporting the Biden administration in censoring conservative voices and banning hosting to conservative websites is being boycotted by the left.

This is some interesting, and ironic, "solidarity".

Truth is stranger that fiction! Oh, the times; they are a changing.

I agree with that except the last sentence. Standards in business do not automatically rise without intervention. Companies will continue to take advantage of workers as much as they can get away with.

And losing jobs to a neighbor like Mexico isn't nearly as bad as shipping them overseas. I guess that's why for all his talk, Trump signed us up for NAFTA 2.0.

False claim. I voted for Trump and buy most of my stuff from Amazon. Ordered something less than 24 hours ago and it was just delivered to my door with the driver coming up a 350 yard gravel drive. Can't beat that for service.

Well partially false claim. I did pass on buying Coke on the last shopping trip and bought Pepsi instead. Also, stopped watching NFL. And to add to the list, will never buy tires again from Goodyear.

Here is a suggestion for liberals. STOP importing cheap labor and the wages and conditions for workers will improve.

C'mon man! It's all they've got. Hard to back a man with dementia who is locking kids in cages, bombing Syria, cancelling pipeline jobs, increasing gasoline prices by 25% in one month, and not doing anything for the working class.

FYI, Trump didn't stop that, nor have Republicans.

    LOL.

It is Republicans who love the imported labor. Trump himself ordered them up for his clubs. Even got a couple of wives out of it. Do you think all those farms and livestock factories are run by liberals? Really?

I no longer watch the NFL because of their racist political stunts, Trump had nothing to do with it. California is boycotting entire states because they won't let boys in girls bathrooms.

I never said Trump did stop it. I have opined many time on PF Trump never made a serious attempt to stop illegals. We need to stop aligning with parties and vote based on issues. And for most Americans stopping the ongoing invasion of our country is an important issue.

So let's get workers laid off without pay for a week. I just love how unions are always "looking out for the working people".

Workers in Alabama and the South have been rejecting unions routinely after they learned that unions can cost them more than what they promise as in closed factories and lost jobs. Auto, steel in particular. Workers who came from wood products and textiles and other heavily unionized industry. They want no part of them. Which is why perhaps the union did everything it could to get rid of secret ballots and only allow mail in ballots instead of on site voting where the person could be checked as to their eligibility to even vote.

"“I have yet to encounter anyone personally that is pro-union,” Hoag said. “Unless someone is straight lying to my face, which I don’t believe. Nobody I interact with has ever told me that they are pro-union. I 1000% believe everyone has a right to feel whatever they want. If I did encounter someone that way, I wouldn’t treat them any differently. The only question I would pose is to ask what avenues they have exhausted that made them feel this is the way to go.”"

How, exactly, do you get this out of an Amazon boycott? Oh, and maybe you didn’t notice that the right was more fragmented than the Biden Bunch. We, indeed do back our leader is right, or at least more right than the loony lineup the left offers.

Now, please ‘scuse me while I jump over to Amazon and buy everything on my wishlist.

Mail in ballots can be secret, and the employer can challenge who cast the ballots. I’ve seen both done countless times in organizing campaigns.

I've gone through union avoidance training in CA, NV and TX, and each time they said the law requires a person from the NLRB to monitor the voting in person. How does the NLRB guy monitor mail in votes?

They used to have lower prices than retail, free shipping, and no sales tax. A few years ago, they raised prices, instituted a $25 minimum purchase for free shipping, and started charging state sales tax.

I hardly order anything from the anymore. Buying local at a brick-and-mortar is better than Amazon these days.

I'm just not a fan of multi-nationals which erode profit for small businesses. I'd rather give one dollar extra to the local guy who only makes enough to feed and house his family. I'm in a position to make that choice, but I realise not everyone else is.

Edited to add that the local guy gives me the item immediately, and I can see it and touch it before paying for it. That's worth the extra buck, IMO.
