R I P Larry Flynt I did not subscribe to any of his enterprises but admired him and continuing although paraplegia robbed him of "whoopie".
Sabine Schmitz, German race car driver, "Queen of the Nürburgring" passed away yesterday at the age of 51. Apparently she was battling cancer. She made many appearances on BBC's Top Gear. RIP Sabine Schmitz
The 2021 Oscars In Memoriam segment. They included a lot of people which they ran thru really quickly although I noticed they left out Jessica Walter :
https://news.yahoo.com/oscar-winning-moonstruck-actress-olympia-211547074.html Oscar-winning 'Moonstruck' actress Olympia Dukakis dies at 89 I liked her in, Tales of the City. Moi Hollywood was home '54 - '64
I didn't see the remake of Tales of the City (or even know it existed though I can see her being quite good in it based on her other performances). I watched Steel Magnolias a few months back and she was good in it. I just happened to have watched the original Tales from the City when I was in college. It was a weirdish show. I had two gaps in my T/TH schedule one semester that was too long to do nothing and stay awake and not long enough to justify driving to my crib and back. I used the gaps to watch a bunch of DVD series in one of the university "libraries" (it was a self-service library where they kept most of the arts and entertainment collection so there was nobody but other students to shush you). That was one of the ones they had I picked up by chance. Since I was living in essentially a boarding house where the owners rented out the bedrooms to whoever could pay him regular rent, it seemed fitting enough.
