So what does infrastructure (something that government is supposed to take care of to begin with) have to do with "ordinary people being fleeced" by corporations?

Oh Joe, Joe, Joe.... When will he ever learn that corporations don't pay taxes. Their consumers do.

Not mention that the money for his green new deal is a multi billion dollar gift to China who produces most of these solar panels with slave labor. We build very few here. Most "domestic" solar systems are assembled here from Chinese products.

Same ol game. Raise taxes on the rich, while letting them keep the exemptions and loopholes they lobbied (bought), buy stuff, then make the middle class pay for it when it turns out the rich have ---surprise!--- hid their wealth in the overly complicated tax code they created.

Sure, the rich people are dicks for it, but you're not paying more than you can get away with either, are you? I sure as hell aint. Its the ppl we keep electing that keep this cycle going. Any tax plan that doesnt involve simplifying the tax code is 'fleecing ordinary people' and Joe F'in knows it (or, knew it before his dimentia anyway). If you cant afford to hire a major league law firm to lower your taxes for you, then you are getting fleeced by the tax code.

So they took money from tax payers to maintain/improve infrastructure, but spent it on something else, and are now up in arms about fleecing ordinary people who have to drive on crumbling roads?

Here in CA, they raised taxes and fees for roads and have built very nice toll roads for those with money to drive on. We call them Lexus lanes!

Try reading what I said again. This time think. What does corporations fleecing people have to do with infrastructure? We know that this is an infrastructure bill. We know that its going to raise corporate taxes to help pay for that infrastructure. What does fleecing people have to do with it?

And yet this latest stimbill has provisions to fix infrastructure. He has also stated the next 2+ trillion has more infrastructure money again.. But I think this is just democrats being democrats and infrastructure is just code for "fill your pockets Congress, and senate" happy days are here again.. If every dollar a Democrat President promised went to infrastructure we would have roads and bridges lined with gold..

When you raise taxes on corporations, it is nothing more than a back door way of raising taxes on all of us, rich and poor.

If you're looking for "tax justice", raise taxes on the personal income of the uber rich, not on the companies that we all depend on.

Donald Trump simply leveled the corporate tax rate to the world median(we had previously the highest corporate tax rate in the world, a place where Biden wants to return us to.)

I predict in the future, corporations will choose to not become a S-Corp, downsize and avoid the tax entirely.

It’s the effective rate that matters. And we weren’t the highest effective rate.

Wall Street is never going to take corporate tax hikes seriously. If you want to punch them in the balls, you have to go after putting significant transaction fees on stock trades. with 2 to 6 billion shares trading a day on the exchange times even a penny per share would generate 20-60 million a day in revenue make it a nickel and them golden parachutes collapse.

Nothing of course. Infrastructure maintenance is the responsibility of the owner of the infrastructure. Federal government should deal with its own infrastructure, not everybody else's. Personally I think a national electric grid is a dangerous idea. It makes attacking it much easier. Fixing potholes on the road on which I live is the responsibility of the county in which I live because the county owns the road. It is not the responsibility of federal government and people who don't have potholes in their county shouldn't pay for mine.

There is the good ol Democrat "Is Going to" but to date it's the "Never did" that's made the Dems what they are today.. The only thing the DNC has got going for them is their parties short memories :) Biden's idea of infrastructure is 500k charging station, yes we are going to PAY to make MUSK even richer by creating a infrastructure to accommodate his company and his car.. Gee, and to think how poorly Shell, Mobil, exxon and all the rest had it having to foot the bill for their own land, stations all over the U.S.

So now our tax dollars are now going to build Government subsidized corporations, and NOW the DEMOCRATS cheer it.. Not long for Communism now..

What a odd group the DNC is ;)

You can start at 1:50, unless you want to start from the beginning to glean Tucker's impression of the Bill.

Does Biden also have a plan to close corporate tax loopholes? Raising tax rates is useless if loopholes are not closed as well.

Nope, they'll create NEW ones. Remember, the Democrats have big money corporate donors too....and they expect returns on their "investments".

The first thing I thought when I read the op was that the price of my household goods were getting ready for an increase. Its like a sales tax hike.
