The detainment of Lt. Caron Nazario

This is a strange one. Could this have been handled better? At least no one was hurt:

 

Smart move refusing to take off his seat belt. Could have got him killed.

 

They need to take lessons in manners,they acted like GESTAPO.

 

Aren't they supposed to" protect and to serve"?? Not brow beat and abuse and threaten.

 

He has filed a Federal law suit against the officers.

 

The senior officer should be fired immediately. The younger officer should get retraining.

 

He was stopped because of no rear license plate... but the truck was new and had a temporary dealer's license CLEARLY displayed in the rear window, the cops didn't "see" it they just saw " black".

 

Did the Lt. tell them he was afraid to remove the seat belt?

 

They need to be fired. It looked to me like the other police officer in the video knew they were going too far. He kept looking at the cop with the camera like he didn't think they were doing the right thing.

 

That is improper in Virginia. License plates have to be mounted to the front and rear of the vehicle. It is why dealerships have plates with magnets that they can slap on where the plates normally go.

 

Probably something that you might want to explain calmly to someone who probably isn't even from there, instead of going in guns drawn. That was ridiculous.

This is what I don't get. Nazario refuses to follow the direction of the officers to get out of the car for 5 minutes, then wonders why things got escalated?

How is it people got it in their heads that you can disobey commands given by law enforcement then blame law enforcement when it all goes south. Most people with average IQs would follow the commands, get out of the car, and take it up with a judge. Not argue and fight with officers on the scene.

Nazario has no case. He brought this on himself.

More or less. The mouthy officer was giving him conflicting directions. He couldn't keep both hands in the air and open the car door.

 

They should be given an award for dealing with stupidity.

 

I guess refusing to follow the commands of the officer had nothing to do with it. lol Nazario played the fool and got treated like a fool.

I was never referred to by my occupational title. Seems only the military are. Freakin insane.,

 

Virginia is making progress in many many areas, but we seem to be par with America on bad policing...

Windsor is in Southern Virginia, somewhat close to the cities of Chesapeake and Norfolk to recognize a man in a military uniform, but apparently not close enough...

 

Did you wear a uniform that indicated to (many) people what your occupational title was?

 

This should have been a simple "Sir, tags are supposed to be displayed on the rear of the vehicle. may I see your license and registration", run it, issue a warning, "see it's placed in it's proper location, have a good day". I'd have feared for my life too, that "senior" cop needs a psych evaluation BAD!!! Gotta feeling if Nazario had moved to take off the seat belt he'd been shot dead, "thought he was reaching for a weapon, ya know?".

 

Just "cops being cops", doing what cops do.

Glad to see that, at least in this case, that these assaultive cops (who had no business ever being given a badge in the first place) are having their Imbecilic Actions scrutinized.

Most of the time, cops get away with this sort of thing (wiithout ever facing judicial scrutiny).
Lt. Nazario is lucky to be alive.

Many of these situations escalate into Cop-Facilitated Robbery (like when they bust a drug dealer with a large amount of cash and drugs).
Many of these situations escalate into Cop-Facilitated Rape (when they see something they like during a routine traffic stop).
Just "cops being cops".:smh:

In any event, I think that both cops should be fired (and permanently blacklisted from ever serving in law enforcement).
They should be charged criminally.
Hopefully, Lt. Nazario gets a large financial settlement and these cops are made an example of what NOT to do.
I wish Lt. Nazario all the best in his pursuit of justice.

And, looking at the date of the video (Dec. 5, 2020), it begs the question of whether these cops were frustrated Trump Supporters looking to take their frustration (over Trump's Loss) out on the first black man that they saw?
It makes one wonder.

 

I don't think is begs the question of being Trump supporters to anyone but you. Kind of like your assessment of what you claimed was a Trump supporter who ran his car into the cop in DC. To the extreme left, EVERYTHING begs the question about Trump. Even when he's not president anymore.

As far as idiot Nazario is concerned, non compliance doesn't get you a financial settlement. It just shows what an idiot you are for not complying and escalating the situation.
If you are dumb enough to argue with cops, thats makes you dumbest person on the scene and you get what idiots get. Tazed, gassed, and cuffed.

You comply with their request and take it up with the judge if they acted inappropriately.

Even if their "request" is to allow yourself to be raped?
Then, just "take it up with the judge"?

Do whatever the cop says?
Got it.

 

Scary as hell. Those officers have some explaining to do.
