Perhaps soon there will be a reunification of the primordial Russian territories of the southeast of Ukraine with Russia.
I guess the Hawks from the White House won't like this,
Therefore, the Russians, in order to cool the hot heads in Washington, sent a submarine with nuclear missiles to the shores of the United States.
You never know what ... The time of arrival of nuclear missiles from a submarine at a distance of about 11 nautical miles will not allow them to be intercepted.
Therefore, I think politicians will get a little outraged, express concern, introduce some other senseless sanctions ... and this will all end there.

Yeah...im sure this sub is being tracked as we speak .....plenty of SOSUS sonar on the ocean floor....and possibly an Ohio class sub trailing it. At the very hint of missiles tubes being flooded for a possible launch....you can be assured that every square mile of Resource Federation will be glowing purplish blue for the next 5000 yrs.

Southeast Ukraine has been earmarked for NATO development. Odessa will be HQ for Eastern ops.....B52s,F35,Apache AH64s at local airbase....CIA field office downtown Odessa,Kherson,Poltava,Mykolaev.

One nuclear sub somewhere in the Atlantic doesn't really change the nuclear math with Russia. They have the capability to destroy the US, and we have the ability to destroy them. Even if we were to sink this one sub before it fired a shot, they still have the capability to destroy the US. They've got 1,000+ nuclear warheads deployed across a complete nuclear triad. To counter that, we've got less than 100 ground-based midcourse interceptors. Aegis BMD, THAAD, or PAC-3 aren't going to do anything significant to alter that equation either.

    .

Years ago a Russian sub was detected in the Gulf of Mexico... don't know if it had nukes.

After Texas Senator John Cornyn demanded to know more from the Pentagon they denied it happened.

Ain’t no Russian sub sailing right now with out being watched by our subs, surface ships, satellites.listening posts on ocean floor.

here’s my question. If this sub just entered the Atlantic how do we know that it’s headed for the US coast?
Did the ruskie captain, Ramius signal his intent with one ping? One ping only?

Yeah, sure, if you think so.

60 years ago the biggest brains in the US said the Soviet Union didn't have anything that was 1,500 times more powerful than the Hiroshima and Nagasaki A bombs combined, but then they set off the most powerful nuclear bomb that has ever been detonated on Earth....and they had pared it back to 57 megatons from 100 megatons as originally planned.

Moral of the story is don't keep underestimating the Russians.

The moral of very post you make about Russia is that they're awesome in every way and America is terrible.

Tsar Bomba had a 50 megaton yield. Not 57. The U.S. overestimated the yield and the Soviets allowed the mistake to go forward.

Note that Tsar Bomba was never built as a usable weapon.

The Russians also have a Radioactive Tidal Wave bomb that can cause a tsunami.... we recently had a bad sub accident in Indonesia, they say they think it's an internal solitary wave, like a strong current that pulls the sub vertically....there wouldn't be weapons that can generate something like that...are there?
I hope not... but have to ask since we're now generating tsunamis & earthquakes as well as HAARP ing with the weather....kinda not expecting an answer....

It's not the conventional weapons we need to fear...it's all the secret sh!t they've created that we don't know about, simply
    frightening

Do not be afraid. This is a demonstration of the possibilities. Only to deter the American "hawks" from rash decisions after the entry of Ukraine into Russia. I wrote about this above.
We all know that an ordinary person does not care about Ukraine and Ukrainians. .... Or ... maybe you are worried about the fate of the Ukrainian fascists?

You're absolutely right. This submarine is a political proposal from the United States not to interfere in the process of Ukraine's accession to Russia. No more.
But such a proposal speaks of a change in the military-political influence in the world.

You're right. Developed this weapon, including Academician Sakharov.
The essence of the project is that along the tectonic plates off the coast of the United States, nuclear charges with an estimated power of 100 megatons were laid. And in the event of an armed conflict, the charge was detonated.
This leads to displacement of tectonic plates (for example San Andrea) and in addition to a strong earthquake, a large tsunami wave is triggered.
There were other projects as well. For example T-15. Where a super torpedo acted as a carrier.
At that time, the submarine forces of the Navy of the USSR Armed Forces did not have the ability to carry ballistic missiles, so torpedoes were considered a promising carrier of nuclear weapons.
The design studies of the nuclear submarine were carried out by a group led by Vladimir Nikolaevich Peregudov. By March 1953, the preliminary design was completed, by July 1954, the technical design of the nuclear submarine was completed.
The warhead of the torpedo was developed at KB-11 of the USSR Ministry of Medium Machine Building under the leadership of Chief Designer Yu. B. Khariton - along with Academician A.D. Sakharov, one of the leading designers of torpedoes and nuclear warheads for nuclear submarines.
In July 1954, the technical design of the nuclear submarine was transferred to the Navy.
But this is history. Now a similar weapon, but immeasurably more powerful (due to the development of technology) is "Status 6".

The only risk of nuclear war will be if religious zealots get their hands on nukes.

I'm sure we can all sleep peacefully tonight.

My understanding is that one of the more closely guarded secrets of the White House is a half-size verified genuine photo of the Washington Monument taken through the sighting reticule of a Russian nuclear missile submarine's periscope which could be nowhere else than in the Potomac River. The other half photo is of the interior harbor of Murmansk. Both are, hopefully, apocryphal, but the only thing that really keeps the other from being made is that neither side wants to target their own submarines. The whole idea of the nuclear sub threat is that neither side can really know where the other's nuclear subs are in 74% of the Earth's surface. Proximity to the target is totally and absolutely irrelevant.

Whoa, cnn is reporting that the Soviets have launched part of their Pacific fleet to track this sub. The Soviet ambassador Anatoly Antnov has told US officials that they suspect the captain and officers have gone rouge.
Apparently this sub is their newest built with first strike capability. The US is helping to try to locate it with the ruskies. Stay tuned to cnn for more.

Why don't they ask the American fast attack submarine that is tailing the Russian where they are?

From what I've heard the U.S. doesn't bother putting its nuclear warhead carrying submarines close to Russia because it makes them more vulnerable to attack.

Most U.S. submarines that sail close to Russia (like to within Murmansk harbor) do so on signal intelligence gathering missions (wire tapping). Like the U.S.S. Parche, Russell B. Long, and several others used to do routinely.
