a vaccine passport seems reasonable, and i won't be taking my family into danger until something like this can be developed.

Oh right, your word is your bond. No one IS compelled to get one. It's just the smart thing to do.....but you just do you.

Issues all of us can understand. The vaccines approved so far appear to provide good protection against hitting the slippery slope that ends in the hospital, so we should get "the jab."

If we can encourage enough people to get vaccinated, we can cut transmission and that will make the idea of isolating unvaccinated people less relevant. As things stand now, there is a demand for vaccine passports someone will meet.
PR campaign? Yes. Do you think doctors have an important role to play with patients or would such advocacy interfere with the doctor-patient relationship?
    It's worth a try.

I hope your decision is whether or not tell people you're vaccinated rather than whether or not to get vaccinated.

That won't stop smaller businesses from asking for proof of vaccination.

Good luck with your two decisions. You know, of course, someone will dislike you no matter what you decide.

Thank you. Of course they will. Fortunately, I have very little interest in other people's opinion of me. Easy peasy!

    Yes, definitely.
Yes, of course, doctors should educate patients on the pros and cons of every treatment or preventive measure, and that includes vaccines, and no, I don't think it would interfere with the doctor-patient relationship because that's exactly part of what the relationship should be. Doctors should be respectful of the patient's ultimate decision but should indeed educate and issue advice. Whether or not the patient accepts the advice, is up to the patient, but the doctor would be neglectful if he/she didn't try to educate and advise.

I think something official will be developed because you won't get into some countries without proof of vaccination. Consider how it goes for yellow fever...

    Makes sense.

Should doctors approach patients or wait until they see them?

I wouldn't bet on it. What is the effectiveness of any of these vaccines for waiters?

The same as it is for everyone else, plus the added benefit of most waiters being very young and thus never were in a particularly high risk group even prior to being vaccinated.

Being vaccinated myself, I have not the slightest worry about whether others around me are vaccinated or not. At that point I would be more concerned as a waiter about catching and dying from meningitis than I would from Covid. Life does not come without a certain degree of risk. A young waiter probably has a greater chance of dying from a car accident on their way to work than they would from catching Covid while vaccinated at work.

By Fall, everyone should be vaccinated.

if you are not, you should be banned from all govt. buildings & establishments of public accomodation....unless you have a recent negative PCR test or antibody test.

    dont like it? too bad.

It definitely cuts both ways for businesses.

I think how it cuts may depend on the business. An outdoor nursery demanding proof of vaccination would be thought about differently than, say, a physiotherapist.

A restaurant asking for proof of vaccination might be quite popular today, but tick off some people who will never come back when we get to the point no one cares. Two months is a long time...

Sounds ridiculous. If people who aren’t vaccinated are so dangerous, why get a vaccine if it doesn’t protect you from them, lol?

the vaccine protects you from dying or getting severely ill.

it doesnt protect you from contracting the virus.

thats why we need everyone vaccinated.
