The public cancellation / humiliation ceremony of Liz Cheney seem to have been the last straw for conservatives. Seeing their fellow Republicans embrace all the conspiracy theories about everything must have been hard to watch and now they are speaking up. A new party is exactly what the country needs, because there are fringe elements within the Dems too, and I am sure many moderate and conservative leaning Dems would he happy to join a new party which is more in line with their views than the vocal far-left wing of the party.

More than 100 Republicans, including former governors and lawmakers, are threatening to form a third party if the GOP doesn't split from Trump

More than 100 Republicans say they will leave their party and form a new one if it doesn't split from former President Donald Trump.

The group, which includes former governors and lawmakers, plans to release a letter outlining the threat on Thursday.

Are you writing about corrupted RINOs who are being paid by enemies of humanity?

No, its about conservatives, but you can call them RINO, because they obviously don't want to be associated with the word "Republican" anymore. Conservatives who want to form a new party actually ARE "Republicans In Name Only = RINO". They want to have a new party and new name. The word RINO was used to shame Republicans who didn't walk the party line, but its becoming a batch of honor for conservatives who have had enough of the alt-right conspiracy / witch-hunt nonsense.

I will register with the new party as soon as they become official.

As a life long dem and planning to stay that way I wish them well. We need a vibrant conservative party as a balance to us dems. I don't think they will enjoy initial success, but who knows what the future holds. It's good to see that many republicans ready to bolt, and either way, I wish them well.

I would love to see the Republican party split. It would ensure Democrats win elections for the next 20 years.

They should be. 100 initial members would guarantee a large 3rd party when other conservatives and moderates join in.

You don't know that. There are plenty of conservatives and moderates in US who are disgusted at what it happening in the current system.

kind of curious how Democrats and the Democrat media are building up the non-story.

What's happening at the southern border? What's happening in Israel, or colombia? Nope, Democrat party and Democrat media focus on a nobody politician and try and make it a story when only Democrat voters care.

You say only Dems care about this "nobody politician".

And yet: More than 100 Republicans, including former governors and lawmakers, are threatening to form a third party

Those folks are not Democrats. Maybe you don't care, and maybe right-wing media is silent about it, but lot of people do care.

This "nobody politician" was one of the highest ranking members of the Republican party.

    uh huh

do you honestly the man on the street even knows Liz cheNey. Despite the push by you and your fellow Democrat voters, and the Democrat led media, it's not going to become the story you hope it to be. It's a loser and you need to get different marching orders.

If there is a way for your Democrat party to somehow blame the pending inflation rate on conservative policies, and get the media to propagate that nonsense, then that is a winner.

Cheney is a non-starter just like whining about Desantis when FL is in good shape

Oh ABSOLUTELY! 100 people will GUARANTEE a large third party! I'll put this down as a prediction by you and we'll see how this goes.

    Good luck!

Why are you assuming the letter-signers are "conservative"? As a self-identified conservative, I certainly wouldn't take MSN's word for it, and neither would any true conservative I know. There are several other strikes against the theory that these people are "conservative"

    "Oh no. Anyway ..."

Just a reminder: Evan McMullin got something like half a percent in the 2016 election, so his track record at organizing and motivating people leaves something to be desired (to put it mildly).

    You don't read too well.

100 founders + those who join them from = Total number

Get it? No, probably not, and it doesn't matter.

If people say they care, why should I assume they are lying about it?

And what evidence do you have proving that no one cares what happened?

I see. You're calling everyone else a liar, but then we should believe everything you say.

You don't have to take anyone's word for it, and nor do you have to believe anyone who says the want a new conservative party. You are welcome to your opinions. I know plenty of conservatives who are fed up with the two party system, but you seem in love with it.

Who do you believe? National Review, a right-leaning publication is saying the same thing, as are many other outlets. Why should they all lie about it?
