Christian Evangelical Support of Israel, Practical Limitations

I somewhat overlooked that, as it is presented as "God's plan" and tried to found it in distant history. I know of NO other case in recent history where this kind of historic and/or religious argument is made concerning the formation of a state. For example, we don't honor that when it comes to the Kurds, and they were our strong ally.

Anyway:

1: Does anyone think Palestinians would be convinced to dissolve their statehood and join an apartheid government that has been ethnically cleansing them for DECADES while running Gaza as an open air prison where citizens can not even export goods? Do those whose relatives have had their homes bulldozed say, "Oh yeah, let ME be ruled by Israel"??

2. Israel staunchly opposes this and has done so in every US led negotiation.

4. Again, this is an absolute and TOTAL nonstarter for Israel. They are an apartheid nation - just not quite as bad as SA was. They hold themselves to be a "Jewish State", and that isn't likely to remain possible when Arabs are nearing a majority.

5. This is another absolute nonstarter. Right of return would mean an influx of Arabs who have well documented property rights in Israel. Israel doesn't have the funds to buy that much property and simply allowing them to be citizens would mean an earlier demise of their "Jewish State" status.

6. Under the Bush "roadmap" this was one of the requirements Israel had to fulfill before entering negotiations. However, it was limited to a few settlements that Netanyahu agreed were illegal. Netanyahu tried to do this, and the result headed toward civil war. He begged off, considering it totally impossible. Since then, the position has hardened.

7. 8. Nice hope. Peoples come together over time. Only the equality before the law and an end to violence parts can be legislated.

9. We tried this in Iraq. It was incredibly difficult. Again, nice objective, though I don't know who would be championing this.

10. The USA does not project our form of government as a template for new states. For example, we did not do that in Iraq. There are very good reasons for that, pertaining to the significant possibility of a president becoming a dictator by taking the steps that Trump took in overcoming the will of congress and defeating checks and balances.


Anyway, this is just someone's dream. It ranges from absolutely and totally rejected to just highly unlikely. It identifies NOBODY interested in promoting this direction - as if a hated resolution would come about on its own.


Let's remember that Palestine IS a state. Israel IS making war on the state of Palestine. That war has to stop. Palestine gets to be sovereign and rule Palestine.

Palestinians are humans. They are going to continue their defense. The one astounding part of that is that Abbas has worked with the IDF against terrorism perpetrated by Palestinians and has demanded that the way forward can be by negotiation alone.

Even so, Israel absolutely refuses to negotiate on ANY of the above issues. And, how bad is that? Well, Israel demanded that the negotiations on borders under the Bush administration had to take place WHILE ISRAEL WAS ETHNICALLY CLEANSING a new region of West Bank thereby extending its borders!!!

 

Except that it really really isn't what America stands for when it comes to other countries, and it never has been. It is the lie the politicians try to sell you but it has never been the truth.

 

Well, there is certainly truth to that.

And, we have no way to plead ignorance given our founding documents.

 

I am of the belief that creating two hundred million acting job somewhere "east" of Jerusalem.......
could save the economy of China from collapse just in case they end up paying more reparations
to American and the rest of the world than was done by the Weimar Republic of Germany?????

Theoretically....... America has so much power over the economy of China with the threat of reparations linked to COVID 19.......

I do find it awfully hard to take Israel as acting in good faith and having any sort of moral high ground so long as Palestinians are denied both equal citizenship in Israel (which would end the “Jewish state” thing) or freedom and self determination as an independent state.

Palestine is potentially one of the more wealthy nations in the region.

The reason is that there is crystal clear evidence that they possess significant oil and gas reserves. And, this has been known for a long, long time.

In the war waged by Israel against Palestine, one of the clear Israeli objectives has been to keep the citizens of Palestine in extreme poverty while ensuring that Palestinian natural resource wealth is denied them.

(Rabbi Akiva feared that the Messianic Jewish community would destroy Rabbinic Judaism so he altered the numbering of the years since Adam). In actuality we have already passed the sixth millennia from Adam and Eve. We are now in the Era of Moshiach, 1996 was significant when the Lia Fail, the Coronation stone of England was given back to Scotland.

Some very bright people thought that 1996 would be around 6000 years from Adam. The reincarnation of King David around then.... or perhaps he attains a certain level of spiritual maturity might fulfill the connection with King David who will be raised up for all twelve of the tribes, not merely for Judah.... but also for Samaria / Joseph.
